I don't get the purpose. At least a chocolate fountain can look pretty, but this does not look appetizing at all. Just spoon some out on a plate and good to go. It's like those nacho tables.. newp newp newp. Put it on a plate.
I love biscuits and gravy, but I find the idea of a gravy fountain gross. A main reason is, how do you keep both the biscuits and gravy fresh and hot? But also just because the fountain looks gross.
Am I the only one that thinks eating sausage gravy tastes like a big bowl of flour? I feel the same way about clam chowder.
I'd be sure you've had it from somebody making it wrong except for the clam chowder comment. C Unless they are both "my family made them when I was a kid and they were gross" things.
Do you also not enjoy anything made with a bechamel sauce?

Bechamel sauce is amazing. I just really dislike biscuits and gravy. I feel bad about not liking clam chowder since I am from New England.

I get what you mean. It's pretty easy to not cook well, to not cook it the raw flour taste.
I don't like cream sauces or soups in general. But a badly done version is absolutely disgusting. I do have an excellent recipe for crab chowder Hawaii style of you ever want to #notallchowder yourself
I own a chocolate fountain. I’ve cleaned it enough times to know that it’s never really clean (when I pull it out of the box it always has grease/residue on it) and gravy?? No way is that coming out clean.
::record screech:: Oh friend, I'm glad you finally had this deliciousness and I'm sad it took so long for you to experience it.
ditto.
it's interesting to me where the heck the biscuit and gravy line is these days. I think it's somewhere between Philly and NYC, but I don't understand why it hasn't spread the way chicken and waffles did. I guess because it's not AT ALL photogenic?
SE and western PA diners and breakfast joints can have biscuits and gravy, but not always - often at the kind of place that woudl have biscuits and gravy you're instead going to get SOS. (creamed chipped beef on toast) Which is clearly inferior. But it's definitely something I had as a kid at some point in PA. (Though...I suppose that coudl have been in VA or WVa visitng my grandparents when they wer eliving down there?? We only ate it at home after my brother moved to Georgia when I was 11.) But Velar Fricative is the second NY person I know to have never had it until adulthood.
I wonder if they have it in like, Scranton. Or even Allentown.
eta: I checked a randomly chosen diner in Scranton, and they have it. A randomly chosen diner in Staten Island does not.
I ate at a diner in Allentown on Saturday and they did not have biscuits and gravy on their (enormous) menu. I'm from PA Amish country and it wasn't a common dish there. Chicken and waffles was a staple, though-- the shredded chicken in white gravy on waffles kind, not the fried chicken w/ syrup kind that threw me for a loop when I moved south!
