"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
I'd like to pretend that I'm too good for this. But yes I'd eat it. I love biscuits and gravy. At least if it was early in the party before it had a chance to catch too many of other people's crumbs, hair, and germs.
Though...has anybody here ever cleaned one of these things? Can you get to all the surfaces? Traces of old chocolate is one thing, but dried out old sausage gravy from the last use is a VERY different one.

Oh.. my. Biscuits and gravy is my most favorite breakfast..... so I'm torn. That does not look appetizing so I'd probably pass but be inspired and make it in my kitchen the following weekend. In fact, I think I am inspired and will make this weekend lol! I'm passing on the gravy fountain.

I considered it for a hot second before I saw the pictures, then... NO.
I'm all for a chocolate fountain (there's a restaurant locally that has amazing fountains as part of their breakfast buffet), but this just looks gross. LOL

I would not. In part b/c my experience is that people who would eat out of something like this are also the ones who double dip, stick their fingers in there, and don't clean it well after using.
I like biscuits and gravy just fine. I just can't over the unappetizing pictures/thoughts here, ha!
I found this video and I can't stop laughing (it's tiktok, proceed at your own risk) - https://www.tiktok.com/@coloradodready/video/7189284824996269354
Logistically it doesn't make sense. An ideal biscuits and gravy situation involves laddling the gravy over the biscuits. Why do I want subpar ratio of biscuit to gravy?
Ignoring the sanitary part of it, it just seems unnecessary lol.
No. I’m not opposed to fountains where something Can smoothly flow over the sides.
But clumping and plopping onto the next level in chunks is not at all appetizing. I can’t see how this wouldn’t make a big splattered mess. I also agree with others that I don’t see how this wouldn’t clog up the lines. Either that or you have to make the sausage so fine that it messes with the texture. No, thanks.
However, I do love biscuits and gravy and think I’ll add that into our meal plan soon!
Yes, because I only just had biscuits and gravy for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it’s delicious.
::record screech:: Oh friend, I'm glad you finally had this deliciousness and I'm sad it took so long for you to experience it.
I went to a "southern" style restaurant around here (I am sure it's not as good as anything in the actual South) and DH ordered it as an appetizer and I was expecting it to be a regular biscuit with some gravy topping instead of what it actually was. I was so confused when it came out. I did need to adjust to the texture a bit but I really did like it.

ditto.
it's interesting to me where the heck the biscuit and gravy line is these days. I think it's somewhere between Philly and NYC, but I don't understand why it hasn't spread the way chicken and waffles did. I guess because it's not AT ALL photogenic?
SE and western PA diners and breakfast joints can have biscuits and gravy, but not always - often at the kind of place that woudl have biscuits and gravy you're instead going to get SOS. (creamed chipped beef on toast) Which is clearly inferior. But it's definitely something I had as a kid at some point in PA. (Though...I suppose that coudl have been in VA or WVa visitng my grandparents when they wer eliving down there?? We only ate it at home after my brother moved to Georgia when I was 11.) But Velar Fricative is the second NY person I know to have never had it until adulthood.
I wonder if they have it in like, Scranton. Or even Allentown.
eta: I checked a randomly chosen diner in Scranton, and they have it. A randomly chosen diner in Staten Island does not.

Good to know as we make use of our ILs' cabin in the Poconos and it's not far from Scranton, maybe in Scranton they'll taste even better.
And I do think it might have to do with the lack of photogenicness. I had no idea what was put down in front of us because I didn't think it was our biscuits and gravy order because I wasn't expecting it to be light and chunky lol. We did have it on SI but it was a southern-themed restaurant.

yeah, in PA it's definitely not a "southern themed" thing, it's just there with on regular diner and breakfast joint menus. I will say the biscuits get better when you go further south, but gravy quality seems to have no geographic correlation based on my extensive eating of biscuits and gravy across the Mid-Atlantic and SE regions.
