Anyone use the Nike+ app on their iPhone? I'm thinking of purchasing some shoes so I can use it. Can you get any Nike shoe with the Nike +? Do you like it? Any drawbacks? Thanks!
You need the shoes with the foot pod if you're using Nike+ on a non GPS device. I use it on my iPhone without special Nike shoes/foot pod and it works well.
Also - if you do want to use it with your iPod then you can still buy the foot pod and a little bag for it that hooks to your laces if you don't like Nike shoes. :-)

I hate running in Nikes so when I used the Nike + system, I had a little pouch that velcroed to my laces and held the foot pod. I'm pretty sure I found it on Amazon for less than $10. I had the actual sportband vs. the iphone app.

I use a little pouch for the pedometer and it works just fine! The gps app always says it can't get a good signal in my neighborhood so I'm sticking with the ped for now.
Actually you CAN use the Nike+ gps on a non gps device. I have it on my iPod touch and it just uses the accelerometer to estimate your distance (and I've found it to be just as accurate as the shoe sensor was). obviously it doesn't trace your route, but for pace/distance/time it works great
