Six former Mississippi law enforcement officers pleaded guilty Monday to all state charges against them stemming from the torture and abuse of two Black men earlier this year.
This case is absolutely horrific. I hope the men win a huge amount in their lawsuit and the cops are given maximum sentences and also face federal charges. Huge TW, the second link especially goes into more detail about premeditation and torture. A neighbor called the cops because black men were staying at a white lady’s house. One was her childhood friend who was helping to take care of her because she is paralyzed.
That breaks my heart. I am know there are good cops out there and all that but the more I hear, the more I think giving a (white) man a gun and a badge brings out the absolute worst in humanity. Fuck them. I hope the victims get a ton of money and the perpetrators go to jail for the rest of their pathetic lives.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

I teach it. It still doesn't make sense to me how people can be so cruel to each other.
It doesn't make sense but it's still a very real human phenomenon. As much as we all would like to say not me there's definitely a chance some would be. I'd hope knowing about it would make it less likely which is why it's important to learn about. I wonder if they teach such things in cop academy
