Obviously the Dems nominated Biden, he beat Trump, went through Jan 6 and now he's running again.
Who do you wish the Dems had nominated in 2020?
Knowing what we know now...who else could have beat Trump? Handled Jan 6th, Afghanistan, the raging inflation, and come out as a better POTUS to run again this year?
Here were our choices....I think only Pete Buttigieg has evolved well. Maybe he could have beat Trump then and now?
Bernie is Bernie. He probably could have made it, but I doubt our economy would be where it is now. We definitely wouldn't have gotten that midyear boost re: Republicans not getting the traditional bump in numbers with a D president. He's too polarizing.
Warren - maybe? Probably?
The rest... eh.
Biden has done a good job. So good that people don't even realize how strong the economy is, or all the other stuff that has been passed that is flying under the radar.

I think Biden has done a pretty good job overall.... I Just don't want to vote for him again & all the concern/criticism about his age is valid. I just wish we were in a different position, but even going back to 2020 and evaluating the choices really doesn't give us much better options.
And I'd still vote for her over Biden if I had the option and primarying a sitting president was a feasible thing. But it isn't. So I'm busy dancing with the one y'all brought. So stand behind him.
ETA: I'd also still choose Harris. I feared being VP would sideline her and it really has. CA Senator is a much more active and visible role.
I wanted Elizabeth Warren, but it’s just as well Biden got the nom because I don’t think she’d have beaten Trump. Eta: also, I appreciate the fact that she can serve in the Senate for much longer than she could have been President.

I still think Biden is and was the best choice. I’m visiting Europe right now and heard in meetings about the 20% inflation they are dealing with. Many people don’t realize how much Biden has done for the economy up to this point.

I stand by my support for Warren over everyone else and think she would have been at least as good as Biden has been (and he’s been a good president). I voted for her in the primary even though NJ is super late and it was already decided (June primary here) because I wanted the opportunity to vote for her once in my life.

I do think Warren would have done a good job with Jan 6 and also the economy.
A direct match up with her and Trump in 2020 would have been wild....she'd be pretty 7 years younger than Biden if she was running for re-election now.
I would have loved to have Warren. But I think Biden is doing fine, maybe even well, and I'm happy with that too. He wasn't my first choice but he certainly wasn't one I regret.
I also want to be clear that even though Warren was my first choice, I've been happy enough with Biden. I think his 40 years in the Senate has been really helpful for relationship building. He comes from a time when the Ds and Rs weren't bitter enemies like they are now. I like that he is comfortable talking to Rs like friends (thinking about Mitch McConnell's most recent health issue and Biden calling him later to see how he was doing).
