Pro tip, don't ever lose a Quest Diagnostics bill before paying it. They have a monopoly for blood work and other testing in my area so they have a lot of business. They've basically made it almost impossible to pay without the bill, because you need the location ID and bill number to pay online or by automated phone. I had the bill on Friday but didn't pay it, and now it's disappeared. Literally dug through every possible place last night, and it's gone. I spent 20 mins on the phone last night to find out there's a different number for billing, who closes on or by 5 PM, which is great for working folks. Anyway, on hold again to see if I can have them look me up. The bill was past due because I truly spaced on the first bill...if I even ever rc'vd it. I just had more blood work so I'll have to be more careful with the billing.
Also doing an experiment with my phone battery after a recent thread. I think my phone might actually save more battery not in battery saver mode, except when I stream something. My phone is 3 years old, full of photos though, so I'm not the best control.

Last night we did Bark at the Park and took Ellie to her first baseball game. She didn't bark or aroo once which is STRANGE for my usually noisy beagle. There were 100 dogs spread out over 3 sections.
Miss R finally !!! starts the rest of her class schedule via Home and Hospital this week .. school only started a month ago. She's only doing 2 class periods on campus and the rest is with 1:1 instruction. She is still doing weekly therapy even though her therapist told me she's a tough one to crack BUT she'll crack at some point. We just have to do things one step at a time and getting her to attend school and do the work consistently is the first hurdle. Once we clear that THEN we can work on her food issues, emotional issues .... there's a lot to unpack and undo.
I’m so annoyed with Xfinity and even more annoyed that they are the only option where I live.
They did some work last week and since then, our internet will randomly go out then come right back on. But now there’s an outage until 12 today. I’m supposed to be WFH. Ugh.
I want to add on with an Xfinity complaint if you do not mind.
they also did some work in my neighborhood where they said they would text us when it started and text us when it was over. They only sent the text of the start time and not the end time. Then since this work was done my alarm touchpad (which is also through Xfinity) wouldn’t connect to WiFi. After 45 minutes on the phone with them it still wouldn’t connect so they told me they would send a tech out WHICH I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR). I’m like excuse me - the work you did screwed this up and both my alarm and Wi-Fi is through you but I have to pay?! No way. I cancelled my alarm service through them but I don’t have another good option for internet so I’m stuck with that for now. They are the worst.

I offended a customer. He was walking away from the counter and I saw there was a cane left. I stopped him to let him know, assuming it was his. It wasn't.
In fairness, he had a large scar on the back of his leg so I thought he had surgery or something.
Yes, it's pretty easy to replace the radio unit in most cars. It's probably easier in older cars than newer ones. I've done it in my most recent 2 cars because I wanted Android Auto and it wasn't available from the manufacturer for the car I had. However, it probably won't be cheap. I think I spent about $800 each time (unfortunately the first car I did this in was totaled in under a year so I had to do it again on the replacement car).
Also, any time I hear something weird while driving, I mute my radio. Most of the time, it's coming from the music.
I kept muting the radio when I heard it but since I’m driving in a lot of noisy city traffic, I wasn’t sure that was it until I was finally driving some place quieter. It’s like a weird whistle that came and went but now it’s a lot more frequent. Apparently that can happen with loose wires picking up outside noise??
If it’s that much money, I might just listen to my phone super loud and deal. lol
I'd at least quote it. I'm guessing a 19 year old car doesn't have a screen, which should make the replacement significantly cheaper than the ones I bought.
I've been doing some Peloton upper-body strength workouts for a couple of months now, 2-3 times a week. A couple of weeks ago I finally decided it was time to up my weights and daaaaang, suddenly I have triceps!

I woke up feeling like I did when I was weaning off Zoloft, super dizzy and brain zaps. I am not weaning off of any medication, the only thing I can think of is the somewhat new supplement I take before bed.
My son and I are driving to Oregon on Friday for a baseball prospect camp. We have been there before and were really looking forward to having time to explore the campus. We got the camp schedule last night and Saturday is from 9am - 8pm. I can not imagine what they are going to do for 11 hours at a camp, hopefully it includes a campus tour!

jinkies I treasure you. That post has brought me great joy today. I wonder if your DH did it as a joke and he is wondering why you never said a word. You need to get a shirt that says Smith on it (assuming that isn't your name).
@sameoldstory disable the Peloton before handing it over.

We’ve been fighting for weeks to get kid 2 his nutropin. First they claimed they didn’t have the PA. Then they didn’t have the rx. Now they’re out of stock of the 10mg so the dr called in the 20mg. We’re hoping that gets it done. We’ve been waiting so long for him to get hgh.
I love the t-shirt story! We actually have a friend named O’Neill
Oh man, I don't know how to office anymore. Someone came over a little while ago and told me there was cake and to go grab some. Being me, I was like "yes I need cake" and made a beeline to get a piece. I walked into a room with a bunch of people I don't know, and said something like "I heard there was cake!". They gave me a piece and were really nice. I said thank you and left since they were cleaning up and I didn't want to slow them down.
However, I didn't even think to ask WHY there was cake. Apparently it was someone's last day, and now I feel like an ass for not acknowledging that. I'm in kind of a weird position here where most people know who I am, but I don't know every single person personally and many I have only met once if I've met them at all. So I know the guy from emailing about various things, but didn't even recognize him. I think we met face to face once and it was months ago and wearing masks.
Anyway, I sent him an email explaining and wishing him well, but I hope everyone else there didn't think I was super rude. Obviously I was perfectly nice if this was a normal interaction, but I wonder if when I left the room they were like "she couldn't even say good luck to you? shows how much HR appreciates employees!".
@sameoldstory , wait. Hold on--you had to give your STBX YOUR Peloton? That he's never even sat on? WTAF?
I am so sorry. That's ridiculous.
Yup! He refused to even consider any kind of settlement unless I give him the bike. It's just his way of hurting me because he knows that I love it and use it all the time.
maudefindlay, how do I disable the bike? And what is the benefit of that?

Idk, I just want to punch that guy. Well, he'd have a useless bike.
Eta He's probably giving the bike to other woman for Christmas. He'd look a tool if it didn't work.
maudefindlay, the other shirts he ordered at the same time were Billabong and Fox racing. He almost definitely just typed in brands that he liked and got a shirt for each one, not realizing that he had misspelled O'Neil. No one has ever asked him what it means LOL.
The estimate for the dental cleaning for my dog is 2285 + 350 for bloodwork.
I'm in the wrong field.
Our vet tech program at my school is going to do my two dogs. I didn’t ask the cost, but she said it includes bloodwork. I’m certain it’s less this way. Plus I’m helping learning! And hopefully my vet will be happy too. But really, it’s about $$$ not altruism. LMAO.

I would make sure to do a factory reset on it at a minimum. So it's not connected to your account or anything.

Give him everything (reset) but the seat and pedal clamps. Anything extra you purchased, you keep that too. Below is a link from peloton for moving it. It sure would be a shame if a screw or something went missing. ::sheds single tear::

I somehow hurt my knee yesterday and by bed it hurt so bad and felt like I hyper-extended it which I have done before. I took ice and motrin, but barely slept because I was so nervous of hurting it more. I've had it wrapped today and will wrap it tonight and hope I sleep.
In other words my DS may have a job. It's just on the weekends, but something to keep him busy and earn money.

I was a chaperone on DS2's field trip today. Such a fun time with a great group of kids. With all the book banners and their crap, it was so refreshing to see how kind these kids are, gives me hope for the future.
Yesterday I won DH and DS1 NFL tickets for the local to us team's season opener Sunday. I got an email today with more info. Their seats are first row, they get free food and drink, and they get sideline passes to spend an hour on the field pre-game. They are so excited.

wildrice, in your defense, it seems that it's harder to share news like someone leaving or getting a promotion or transfer to a different dept if you can still WFH at least some of the time. We had a lot of turn over at my last job, and often found out someone was leaving, even to said other dept, by getting called over for the left over cake at the end of the party. Even my last day and my now last job a few staff in our sister office found out I was leaving when we ate cake 2 hours before the end of my last shift. They were super nice about it and felt bad they didn't know. That was a weird, specific situation, but I had no hard feelings. Anyway, at least you care and tried to be social, lol.
sproctopus, with your science background you'd probably rock the animal dental cleaning training. The Vet Tech program at my last school took out Micro and replaced with 2 Humanities electives (sited accreditation, but I smell BS)...so us non-science people were like, but animals have bacteria, and little tiny organisms too right? Meaning, Micro is more important than history of 80's music? Anyway, hope all goes well with the procedures and they somehow lower the price.
