As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow by Zoulfa Katouh, 4* (Khawf didn't work for me, but I still liked this book, it's heavy and emotional. I can see why people have been talking about it.)
The Brother's Hawthorne by Jennifer Barnes, 3* (I had a difficult time concentrating on this book).
I'm currently reading Happiness Falls by Angie Kim. I'm liking the storyline, but the main character is driving me crazy).
Qotw: I don't know how to post a picture. There is not much of a view from the closest window- the neighbor's backyard. We do have a picturesque view of the mountains from a different window.
I finally finished Shrines of Gaiety by Kate Atkinson, which I first started back in July. It was a struggle and really not worth the effort. Just started The Woman in the Castello by Kelsey James — hoping for something light and page-turner-y.
QOTW: a lovely magnolia tree (not in bloom, of course) and a neighbor’s car. Not the most exciting.

Finished the Throne of Glass series. That last book was SO LONG but really good. I was a little iffy on how things came together in the end, but overall it was a great series.
I finally picked up Fourth Wing. Not sure how I feel about it yet other than that first test throwing my anxiety into overdrive 🥴
QOTW: I'm sitting at my WFH desk, so outside my window are a couple bird feeders, the neighbor's lilac (I think) bushes, and the neighbor's deck where their Yorkie likes to bark at me from 😂
I am reading Poverty, by America by Matthew Desmond, which is sad but informative. I also started I am Homeless If This Is Not My Home by Lorrie Moore. I've been waiting for a new Lorrie Moore novel for like a decade!
The view out my window right now is gloomy since a rainstorm just blew through. I can also see my new neighbor who just bought the house catty-corner to us. That place needs a lot of updating, and it looks like he's starting it; there's a radon abatement van out front. His license plate is from Massachusetts and that's all I know for now, but I am nosy and hoping to see some furniture come in this weekend.

Still reading Everyone in my Family has Killed Someone.
Finished Killers of a Certain Age and it definitely picked up.
Started listening to The Housekeepers which feels like Oceans 8, but in 1900s London.
QOTW: What’s the view from your nearest window? (Pics, perhaps?) I'm on the couch while the kids watch The Little Mermaid, so my literal view is the hedge just outside the window. But the window itself looks out onto the street that runs in front of my house.
I’m reading One Two Three by Laurie Frankel and enjoying it so far. Still listening to Once we were Brothers
It’s right before bed, so it’s dark now, but the window next to my bed looks out onto part of the roof over our front door and living space and to an evergreen tree behind that when I’m laying down. I enjoy watching the rain or snow fall on that roof or the moon go by in the dark.
