Well, I thought I had an appointment for myself and the 8 year old at Walgreens this Saturday, but they called this afternoon to tell me they're out of vaccine and don't know when they'll be getting it. She also said they've never had the under 12, so she wasn't sure why the system let me make the appointment. Ugh.

@@ The system let me make the appointment too at Walgreens, and they called me and said the same thing. We got it done at CVS later on.
We all got our Covid shots last Friday and flu shots are scheduled for Monday, so that gave us about 1.5 weeks in between. I was aiming for about 2 weeks, but Monday is our light day schedule wise next week.

@ kids had well visits today. Got flu shots, HPV, DTap, and meningitis. Whew. They didn't have covid shots in yet, she said maybe next week. Was hoping to get it today, but 5 shots may have been too much for them.

I’m procrastinating calling Walgreens to check on J’s vaccine appt tomorrow bc I’m pretty sure they are going to tell me they don’t have the <5 vaccines yet. Ugh.
Anecdotally I’ve heard some Walmart pharmacies are now vaccinating kids 3+ but given the annoying systems issues with booking but them not having the vaccine type needed, I’d probably give you Walmart pharmacy a call before booking to be sure they will be able to take you.
ETA: confirmed that our local Walmart was vaccinating <5 today but as of right now they’re out of peds doses everywhere for at least 100 miles. I feel like I’m going to cry.

My H got his Covid vax at Walmart. No problem scheduling. We both got our flu shots there at the same time as well. They didn't ask for any insurance information.

Oh yeah they are def vaccinating adults! I’m not sure they have gotten shipments of the <5 vaccine doses in my area yet, which is what my caveat was about.

Sorry, I know you are looking for under 5 vaxes. I was just so surprised when we got to the car and realized they never asked for any insurance information, ID or anything.

Hopefully this helps to expand access to more people!
Please cross your fingers for me that DD(15) and I's appointments this evening aren't cancelled again. DH's was cancelled but he managed to snag another one for this afternoon. I need to do it on a Friday because of how sick we both get but I don't want to wait another week if today's gets cancelled like it did last week.
The three of us still have appointments for Covid/Flu tomorrow. I just called to confirm that this CVS location actually has the chidren's dose. She said yes so I am cautiously hopeful.
I'm pretty sure my Walgreens appt is going to get cancelled tomorrow because now their website says you can only schedule kids 12+.
Good thing is I was able to secure an appt at a minute clinic nearby where I shouldn't have any insurance issues so fingers crossed.
This is what is happening to us too, for a @ vax appt today. Just FYI they did not contact me to cancel, I called them and they said they can’t do it bc they don’t have any doses for that age range and they don’t know when they will get them in.
We have a lead at a local pharmacy so I’m keeping my fingers crossed it pans out this afternoon.
I just called Walgreens, and my kids (4 and 7) appointments for tomorrow are cancelled, although the scheduling system hasn't notified us. They have not received any doses yet for under 12, and don't know when they will.
I just got a Pfizer appointment on 10/6 for my 7 yo at CVS, but who knows if it will go. I have to keep trying! I have no plan ATM for my 4 yo.

Got my flu shot Wednesday and barely had a sore arm. Got Pfizer covid shot last night in other arm and it is remarkably more sore, but no other issues so far. H and kid got their flu shots last night too and CVS said they still have no idea when they're getting <12 covid doses. Also, turns out CVS doesn't play nicely with H's insurance, so he paid for his rather than have to go make an appt with our dr for another time.

Conundrum!!!! I just got a text that I won lottery tix to Book of Mormon on Broadway tomorrow. So, I can reschedule the vaccines for Sunday and then most likely we'll be miserable on Monday at work/school or get the shot tonight and be miserable on the train and at the show or skip the show. Decisions are hard!
I'm pretty sure the show is going to win out and we'll get the shots on Sunday because THEATRE.

Two people ahead of me when I was checking in inquired about getting their covid shot today without an appt and were put in. The same was not true for the flu shot they were wanting, which I wonder what was going on there.
I have my shots onboard, and have no plans other than to veg and be sick this afternoon.
I called a Walmart a county over, and they had 4 pediatric doses left, Moderna, which I need for DS. I just made both kids appointments for 5:40pm. Crossing it all.
ETA: Success! Shots in little arms. But I can't BELIEVE how much harder this was than it had to be.

We’ve had quite the journey this morning. Walmart is now out of stock for <5 for 150 miles (lmao) and Walgreens doesn’t have them yet at all so we couldn’t keep our appt there for this evening (they didn’t bother to cancel it, I called and they told me it must have been an error.)
We got a tip from a covid vaccine group on FB that a local independent pharmacy still had doses for this age group and we got one of the last ones! I’m pretty sure they are the only pharmacy in the entire state that has actually vaccinated kids yet.
Also it was an old timey Apocathary with an ice cream counter and we got ice cream.
I got a text today that my CVS appointment for tomorrow was cancelled because they didn’t have it. So I made an appointment for Walgreens tomorrow so we’ll see what happens with that.

Woohoo! All 3 of us now have gotten our boosters! And only 2-1/2 weeks to go before we leave for vacay so timing is basically exactly what I was hoping for.

My insides felt "shivery", I kept flashing from hot to cold, and I was nauseous, but my reaction was MUCH better than my previous reactions. Pfizer this time, other boosters were moderna, and original series was Pfizer.
Despite making the appointment a week ago and calling yesterday to confirm they in fact had it, CVS gave the last pediatric dose to a walk-in 20 minutes before we arrived. And were dumb enough to tell me that.
I was so mad the pharmacist called around and found us one that required a bit of a drive. At least we’re all vaccinated now.

Oh wow this is sooooooo annoying! I’m glad you all ended up vaccinated.
