I mean, maybe Hunter did something illegal. But I bet a ton of other people have done the same or worse and nobody gave a shit, so it seems like this is largely performative.

It’s a headline and will be in the right wing news cycle ad nauseam. Is that a big deal ?

Also, I heard chatter that the underlying gun law has already been deemed unconstitutional in another circuit/court. So, whomp, whomp.

But isn’t it RICH that Rs are so desperate for a nasty headline, that they’ll abandon their blinders on defending all things guns.

I have a theory that this along with impeachment proceedings against pres Biden are too show it's all political show and therefore there's nothing to those felony charges against trump and his 2 impeachments. They want these charges against the bidens to be absolutely ridiculous farce

I think HB is guilty and will probably end up in jail. I don't think JB is involved in any of this, but HB is shady as hell.

He broke the law (even though it sounds like this is a shaky law to begin with) by lying when buying a gun. I'm fine w/him going to jail or whatever the usual punishment is. I just hope they get it over with quickly.

I don’t disagree that we need younger people in congress but then I look at some of the younger people we do/have had - the Madison Cawthorns and Lauren Boeberts and wonder if that will make a difference. I know they are extremist but…still.

Maybe it’s the area I live in - even though I’m in a swing state but I know more young (like very young gen Z) that are very vocally pro-trump. I hear a lot (not necessarily here) that the younger generations won’t let them happen/they are going to save us in the next election and I think we are putting too much faith in them.

Sorry - I’m just feeling very pessimistic right now apparently.
