It's been some time since we've had one of these threads! I unloaded a glaze fire yesterday and took a minute to snap some pics, so I figured I might as well share them.
First, though- if you want to share your own photos and need help, please ask- I am more than happy to help (and I'm sure others are, too- we love crafty photos). So, what's everyone else working on?
Anyway, this was a pretty full (little) kiln, and I didn't even get pictures of everything-sometimes stuff just goes right into use around here.
First up, 2 new mugs. I don't drink coffee or tea, but I like making mugs, and H is enjoying having new ones a few times a year. We are slowly getting rid of all the commercially made mugs to make room, ha!
This is a paint pallet (made on a total whim, but worked out pretty well) and a water cup with brush notches.
This little guy replaces our toothpick (doneness sticks in my baking kitchen, lol) container, which was just the ugly thing they came in.
I made this little hanging curio shelf for DD. She loves miniature things and needs a home for some stuff (or it ends up everywhere). This glaze is so hard to get in photos, but it has a nice finish in person.
Now, this glaze combination is also ugly in person, ha- but the succulents the pots were made for don't care, thankfully. I already need to make more (because why spend $5 for a pot when I can spend many hours on one and end up ruining it with glaze, right?), they just keep growing.
A salt shaker. We needed a new one, and I got so frustrated reading reviews on the darn things, so...
It's a fun design (not my own!)- the cylinder surrounds a cone with a hole at the apex- shake it and the salt (that rests in the ring around the cylinder) shakes out through the hole. I was surprised it works as well as it does, but I'm not sold on it yet.
And woah. This was a kiln surprise (this glaze is normally a deep, moody blue green with lots of variation). I must not have mixed it well! The lid for this didn't work out, anyway, so back to work for me- but this was going to be a salt pig to keep next to the stove. It's definitely not what I envisioned, but that's pottery.
That's all I have photos of right now, I'm still knitting and weaving and sewing, too, but never take pictures!, ugh! Why is it so hard?

I finished these up last night for my vendor market this weekend. I only made 2 pairs of each style, so not worth making an Etsy listing. I primarily work in rose gold and don't have a lot of yellow gold findings laying around, but I learned how to make jump rings out of headpins in a pinch.
BlondeSpiders, Those are so pretty!! I haven't worn earrings in a long time, but everything you've been posting recently makes me And thank you for posting, sheesh. It was getting lonely in here!

Want to see a sign I made for my check out stand? It resembles my business logo and is a little janky but not too terrible. Yes, I am my own worst critic.

I'd love to hear how it goes!! The signage looks amazing!

All the ornaments. Obviously, this one is more of a wall hanging. This one is also pretty large for an ornament. Urban Threads has gorgeous designs, but I don’t count either of these as ornament size. I finally found a snake since my match for another exchange got a new snake this year. Made several of these water bottle or tumbler bags. I will likely make a few more as four sold the first day they were listed.
And several of these beaded ornaments. This one has hotfix rhinestones and I was really excited they worked with vinyl.
My niece is 2 and that means she gets dresses. I found this seersucker on clearance at Joann and I love it so much.
And finally, I made a cover for my order book. It makes me smile and it’s harder to lose this way. That pen was such an exciting thing until the red turned out to be black. It has a pencil too, plus two black, one blue, and green. I use different colors to mark progress and now I’m carrying two pens, lol.
My latest kiln load, figured I'd just plop them here. I have a new phone and it has a bunch of lenses to get used to, so some of these photos are not great/stretched. Just take my word for it, these are just various straight walled cylinders, ha.
My salt jar- I love having it next to the stove so I can actually do that pinch of salt thing. This was technically in my last kiln load, but I didn't take pictures of that batch.
More succulent pots- in a few more weeks I need to repot a bunch of leaf-grown babies, so I'm preparing.
Again, some of these pictures make these pots look really wonky- they're not that bad IRL!
Another little heart rattle
More mugs
A little tiny (about 2" diameter) container became my wipe/drip/clean pot, I just used it to wipe off my glaze brushes. It's just an easy way to use up almost every drop of glaze (which is getting $$$ these days).
A donut rattle, just a proof of concept, ha. DD adopted it.

I know this is an old thread, but I have to ask: how did you start getting into ceramics a home? I’ve taken classes here and there, but I would love to be able to do it at home. Any tips? Thanks!
