My weird week is continuing. Yesterday, DD spilled large quantities of water all over her back pack. Water in the monitor of the chrome book, all over her books and planner. I was trying to blow dry everything just so it wouldn't mold because that's how much there was and it took over 20 minutes. Then, DD never did her homework because her math books was wet, so she did it this morning.
I picked up DD's friend from band, and band was running late so the mom texted me 15 minutes later asking if I picked her up. I did because I remember things and am responsible, but I didn't see the text for over 30 minutes due to the blow drying, so I felt bad, but it seems like they noticed their daughter was home. The other kid I was supposed to pick up lied to her mom and said she forgot band even though DD told her band at the end of the day and she was holding her instrument. Anyway, that is not my drama.
DH is feeling sick, I hope he didn't pick up anything on the train, since we are all trying to get our Covid and flu shots right now. I went to get my haircut last night, and he texted me for cold medicine. Well we have lots of stuff in the house, he was just too tired to get up and look, so I had to find that.
Then, DS biked to school this morning, ripped his entire chain off his bike, I sent DH to rescue him. He had to drive him to school and bring the bike home.
I would really like my life to get back to drama free. We have 3 soccer games this weekend- ugh.
Oh and I always love it when the general public tries to get their way and tells me they are going to forge someone signature. Don't come at me with that. You are overbearing grandparents, if the parents wanted their kids to have library cards, they would have gotten it for them. The world doesn't work like that, and you saying you will be responsible is a lie because you live in another state and are trying to forge signatures. There is zero chance that you are responsible in this scenario.

DS was up early to eat breakfast and shower for picture day by the time I got up to make his lunch this morning. Apparently, 5th grade is when he starts caring about how he looks because he had picked out his outfit days ago and has been practicing his smile. Very cute to see how excited he is.
Beau and I are leaving tonight for 4 nights of camping and riding. His brother decided to come last minute and is just staying the weekend, so we'll have Sunday night through Tuesday to ourselves.

I'm ready for the weekend!
I have zero energy today and am starting to get a sore throat. I think it's just a long week catching up with me, paired with fall allergies. Hopefully not covid leftover from DS!
Tonight the girls and I will be home without the boys, so we're going to go to Target, get some snacks, and watch Newsies. DD2 is singing a song from Newsies in chorus so they're newly obsessed. My musical theater indoctrination plan continues...
Tomorrow we may go hang out with MIL at an event in the city. Or, DH may take the kids and I will stay home to get homework done in peace. We haven't decided yet.

I’m pretty much alone this weekend. Bf is coming tonight when kids go to dads but flies out for business tomorrow. I’m supposed to run long like maybe 15 miles, and it’s going to rain so we’ll see. I have a few months before my marathon but very few opportunities without the kids. Going to catch up on things around the house. Sunday i have plans to go to one of the kids games, a karate demo, and a fall thing w a dear friend I haven’t seen in a long time.
I'm still freezing at tax class. Food has been very goof which is a plus.
DH is doing okay. The dog is not. She is do confused on why dad is home and mom isn't. She wouldn't sleep in our room last night and is being about eating. DD is surviving.
DD is supposed to ride Sunday but the rain looks like it is coming in early so it might be a wet ride. Sunday for me is all my normal weekend chores in 1 day.

I have too much crap to do and not enough time to do it. I need to shop for new pants, which is not my favorite thing. Honestly I would rather shop for a swim suit than work pants.
DS has ninja class. MIL wants to go watch him. I have to do the normal grocery shopping and all that stuff. There’s nothing fun on our list. I need to find a fun thing to do.
mommyatty I completely agree with you about pants shopping. I try to wear mostly skirts and dresses and yoga pants year round because I hate work pants. And jeans. Can’t actually remember the last time I wore real pants…today I’m wearing stretchy black workout type pants.
Anyway, another ‘new normal’ weekend of 8 sporting events for us. Which would be better if they weren’t almost all at bad times - too late or too early. Flag football for DD tonight (8:30 pm - too late!), 3 soccer games tomorrow (DD has to arrive at 7:30 for her 8 am game), then three softball games Sunday (5:30 am departure to arrive at 7 am to warm up for first game at 8 am). 10 am baseball game for DS1 Sunday, which actually works well because I got a babysitter for the two little boys 9-1 so DH and DS1 can have some one on one time. Oh, and soccer pictures for everyone Sunday afternoon too.
Our ymca preschool did just start up their program again where they will take your child to and from the preschool to swim lessons! The pool is right there across from the preschool. You pay for the swim lessons like normal and a teacher gets them ready, stays at the lesson with them, and gets them changed after and brings them back to school. I’m so excited for DS3 to get to do that and for us to not have to add one more thing to our schedule.
ETA - I just took a nice 3-4 pm Friday nap to fortify myself for the busy weekend
waverly, mommyatty,I hope the days ahead are calmer. twinmomma, I hope you get to run tomorrow! I would love to be up to 15 miles again....haven't done that in seven years. I'm running 8, possibly 9 miles with a friend tomorrow morning. It will be a stretch. We look like a greyhound and a Scottish terrier running together...me being the terrier. Just keeping up with her really pushes me, so it will be an adventure
This week ended oddly. I've mentioned being in a funk about work and I really want to get out. I need to pick myself up, I think.
Tomorrow, we're going to a small Oktoberfest in a nearby town then to see my sister's new house and meet her family for dinner. Sunday, H has ski patrol training and I'm meeting a friend for breakfast.
I need some sleep too sdlaura, I'm envious of you and your naptime!
It’s a crazy busy weekend but I think things will move around due to a big storm that’s supposed to hit us today.
Yesterday was my company’s annual charity golf tournament. We raised over $150,000 that will go directly to cancer research at one of the top research facilities in the country. It was a ton of work and I’m really happy that we pulled it off. My favorite coworker told me that she’s not coming back after her Mat leave, which starts next week. I’m disappointed but not surprised, and I hope we stay in touch.
I left the tourney early to get home and help my kids get ready for their first dance at their new school. They had a great time!
Today dd2 had an early soccer game, but she feels like garbage with a cold. It’s just rec soccer so I didn’t want her to kill herself getting there. She has a club game later, another club game tomorrow, and a tryout tomorrow morning, so I just wanted her to rest.
Homecoming is today but we are waiting for a tropical storm to hit. My 30th HS reunion is tonight, but almost everyone has backed out. So maybe I will go, maybe I won’t, we will have to see…
We had to evacuate from our convention center this morning due to a gas smell. The entire room smelled like someone had opened a propane tank. Casino staff finally said we could resume that the building wasn't going to explode and it was toxic. Just another exciting day of tax school.
DD called me this morning and isn't feeling good. I told her to take tylenol and take a nap. I also don't feel great but the air quality has been horrible where I am plus the Casino isn't smoke free.
