I couldn’t get anything started this week, so I ended up reading yet another Michael Connelly. This is one in the Jack McEvoy series, The Scarecrow. It’s fine, not my favorite, but it will do.
QOTW: neither, really. I love summer but I’m ready for cooler weather once September is ending. I think fall is nice enough, and I might get around to having pumpkin spice something. Apples and apple orchards are the best part of fall. I’m always sad when picking season ends and I have to go back to mediocre grocery store apples at grocery store prices.
I am reading a book called Community Board and it is irritating me that the main character can’t get herself together. I’m mostly reading out of spite at this point!
Summer is my favorite season so I will miss it. There is a lot to like about fall and I’m glad to have seasons where I live. However, I already pulled my electric blanket out at work this week so I guess it’s another 10 months of that til next summer, sigh.

Been working on The Song of Achilles and Pageboy. I read other posts/reviews about the writing in Pageboy and.. yeah. It's hard for me to follow. It's all over the place! I'm interested in his story and reading this with a group at work, so I'll get through it, but it just seems like an unedited first draft that went straight to publishing. The Song of Achilles is good so far. It's interesting because I've read other stories that relate directly to this one (Circe, Ariadne), so I'm seeing things from the other side or a different part of the story.
QOTW: I don't mind fall, but we get like 2 months of summer and 8 of winter here so I'm in 0 rush for fall because winter will follow soon enough. I'm dreading it getting cold again 😭
The River We Remember by William Kent Krueger, 4* (dragged a little at times, but overall enjoyed it)
The Vaster Wilds by Lauren Groff, 2* (too bleak and monotonous for me. Plus, I disliked the ending).
Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster, 4* (I was always going to read this to my kids, but never got around to it. I found it on another must read list recently so I decided to read it. It's a cute and clever story, but I'm glad I didn't read it to my kids way back then because they would have been too young to understand it.)
I'm currently reading The Last Flight by Julie Clark. I'm enjoying it so far.
Qotw: I love Fall! I love the colors, the warm clothes, the cooler temperatures, the holidays,.... Pretty much everything about Fall.
