Looking at ear protection for concerts/events/loud places for both of my kids (12,15) and was wondering if anyone had experience with these. They seem a little obvious as over the ear headphones.

I have them and I really enjoy the effect- I can hear very well, but it cuts down on the stressful, ambient sounds. The ones I have are supposed to be good for conversing, but I don't feel comfortable wearing them during conversations. The few times I tried, I felt like I was talking really loudly, only to be told I was talking very quietly.
I have some that I bought for sleep. They work well, but they were uncomfortable since I'm a side sleeper and they were too hard and hurt after a while. They'd probably be fine if you aren't lying down though!
My friend has some of the ones that reduce volume and she *loves* them. She raves about them and wears them a lot when her kids are being super loud LOL. She recommends them to everyone (which is probably why I bought mine).
I have a pair of the Experience and love them. You can hear the artists when they talk, even when people are cheering/screaming, but still talk to the people around you. We forgot my daughters for a concert and she ended up wearing mine. The only thing to be mindful of is that they are (obviously) really small. I was worried about her dropping one in the stadium in the dark. If they don't go often, I'd probably try just slim foam earplugs and bring several pair in case they are dropped.
I got the experience ones for Taylor Swift and they were great! At one point I was like I can hear everything just fine, I don’t need these …took one out and WOW it was too loud. So they really do a great job of volume control.
I have just the lowest version of Loop Quiet. I was nervous because earbuds never fit me, but they had a tip that fits me well. I LOVE them and just keep them in my purse at all times now. My tolerance for loud or ambient noise is wildly reduced post-pandemic. I can still hear what is happening and even have a short conversation (I'm paranoid about being loud myself while talking so I generally remove them if it's a full blown discussion) I have worn them for concerts, graduation- sometimes just when my kids are loud. Highly recommend.
I have the loop engage for day to day stuff and I love them. I’m migraine prone and work in a school and they’re lifesavers when I have to go into a noisy classroom. I can still converse with the kids but they dull the noise. No one knows when I’m wearing them-I mentioned it to a prek teacher and she was surprised I had them in-then she ordered a pair lol.
The Quiet didn't work for me for the same reason as the other poster - I'm a side sleeper and they were too uncomfortable, also they didn't block out asshole neighbor's thousand dogs anyway. Plus I hate sleeping in earplugs; they make me too aware of my own breathing, which makes me think I'm snorkeling, which makes me think I'm drowning and wakes me up.
But I absolutely love the Experience ones for concerts. Way more comfortable than foam, they stay in better, and block the LOUD better without ruining the music listening experience. They live up to their name.
