Despite the dog puke incident this week has been going much better than last weeks multiple mini fiascos.
Work news- DH's says he may be back to WFH again because they might be selling his office. He was WFH, then in once a week, then WFH, then in 3 days a week every other week.
Lake house/ rental news- We had buyers, but are thinking of backing out of the deal and keeping it. They have until tomorrow at midnight to attain financing, and if not then we are legally able to void the deal. I want to keep it but I need help on figuring out what to put where. And given that this is the 3rd appraisal, attaining financing might not be feasible for them anyway. 1st appraisal was too low because they didn't look at lake houses just random farm houses, the 2nd one the guy looked at the house and then never wrote the report and ghosted the buyers.
"the lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency of my part"
We were told this a couple times over the weekend of tax school. I actually made a sign and posted it up at the front desk. I've had 2 different people ask me where I got the sign because they need one for their business or house.
7th grade teachers are all assigning homework, but it has due dates that are very far out. Book report assigned last week due the Friday before Thanksgiving. 10pg health packet due November 1st. Science fair project due in June. Part of me wonders if we truly are teaching our kids how to procrastinate? DD finished the book report and her teacher said she couldn't be done as she has 2 more months to work on it. I told DD to turn it in and tell the teacher to not loose it.
My sister fell down the dugout step working a baseball camp early August. Workers comp deal so all the boxes need to be check and they said she just sprained it. 10 weeks later it is still bruised and swollen and she herself moved from the wrap brace they gave her to a boot. Doctors finally sent her for an MRI. She has a fully torn ligament in her ankle and is being referred to a surgeon. She lives alone, it's her right foot, and as an athletic trainer needs to be on her feet. She is 100% panicking.

PDQ but I’m not actually in litigation and he can’t violate me anymore than he already has anyway.
ExH has violated the new order twice in the first month - one regarding the mental health care of a child.
I did something I DREAD every month which is submit receipts for sports/medical/childcare which he’s ordered to pay half. Our state doesn’t have a mechanism to do this through the courts. I can’t afford to keep submitting it through lawyers, although I’m sure he could.
I asked for a months worth w itemized receipts. It was crystal clear. I even made sure any online orders had pics of things (cleats etc) bc he used to deny anything from like, sports stores, saying I must’ve bought things for myself and passed it on as the kids. No response for 4 days so I clicked “remind”. He declined the payment, and his usual, which is create a new one.
He messes up the numbers, and leaves things out. Next time I guess I’ll have no choice but to submit individual Venmo’s of each singular item, to keep it clearer as to what exactly he’s declining.
I texted to ask him to explain which is a typical mode of communication. I don’t care for the apps bc it’s another thing I need to manage for him.
He responded via email (not through his atty this time but odd still) to claim I’m harassing him and he’s going to take “legal actions.”
I’m awaiting a response for that one, not from me.
The latest is he is suddenly claiming he’s taking our son to the orthodontist. I think it’s bc he no longer has access to my personal and private texts and he wants to see me in a small enclosed space w no way out. I will not be attending.
And this; this is all referred to as Post Separation Abuse. Financial withholding, etc.
DD1 is struggling so hard with school right now. There is a huge amount more homework in 9th grade than there was in 8th and she can’t keep up. Her ADHD meds have completely worn off by the time she gets home after practice at 6 and she just can’t keep up. I don’t know what to do — let her sink and make changes when those first grades come in, or continue to fight with her every night. I hate it.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
erbear- is there a small nighttime dose her doc could give her that would get her through homework time? Or additional accommodations like doing fewer math problems to demonstrate mastery? Or more time for assignments so she could finish things over the weekend? I hate this for her.
erbear does her school have a built in time of the day? All of ours have a 45 min block that they have advisory lessons some days of the week but other days you can get sent to a teacher for extra help if needed, or do homework. Most kids do nothing w that time, but it’s a way for staff to check in w them. Staff has a check-in system w data on how many times they are requested or kids request to be seen. Is there anything like that in her school?
erbear, I second a smaller dose later in the day. Other meds are kind of made to do this, but Vyvanse isn't (which is what both of my kids use). It takes a good 6-8 hours to get out of the system in the right dose, but DD1 often needs a boost if she has homework or an evening activity that requires focus. So she takes 40mg daily, and 10mg at around 4pm if she needs a little more to get her through until bedtime. It typically burns off by 10 so there's no issues at bedtime.
It made a HUGE difference once we started doing that.

campermom, Talking Parents has a payment section now. I know you said he doesn't like the apps and you have to manage it for him, but you can't manage his Talking Parents since it requires him to have a separate log in from yours. And then if he doesn't pay, you could send it to your attorney every 6 months or so.

supertrooper1 he would simply not log in and not respond if I do it that way.
Venmo serves the same mechanism but straight to his email. It’s all valid documentation too. Every barrier possible has to be eliminated.
I can’t afford to wait months for his payments.
I also can’t afford more lawyer involvement but each letter is only costing me a hundred to a couple hundred dollars whereas a retainer for contempt is 5k.

I think I will ask about an afternoon dose. School will not accommodate this.

They have “office hours” for 20 minutes in the morning but she desperately wants and needs a break and a snack then.
