How are you dealing with the season change (if your seasons are changing)?
Not well, it was 40 degrees this morning and cold in the house.
Random:
I've been in a funk all weekend. I was hosting 2 birthday parties for DS. The first one was for DH's family, and he did nothing and even went to an appointment in the middle of it. He didn't even buy DS a present, well one that arrived anyway. I had to do all the shopping, take MIL on errands, buy the cake and everything. DH didn't even cook which he usually does, and went to a Mexican restaurant instead.
Then I did all the party for DS's friend party except DH did pick up the pizza and tell them the party was over with. This I expected since it was technically a work day. I took the day off and DH worked.
GTKY: Well, I was all excited to transition to fall weather this weekend for real. Until we realized that the heat in the new house doesn't seem to be working. There's a wood stove in the basement that we know the old owner used, so we're wondering if all our baseboard heat upstairs is actually not hooked up to anything. None of the thermostats we've tried are kicking anything on. We have zero intentions of using the woodstove, especially since it's in the family room where the kids hang out and we don't want to worry about any accidental burns or anything. So that's a fun discovery that is making this seasonal transition decidedly not fun. But, our gas fireplace is being hooked up this week so our living room will feel nice and cozy even if the rest of the house is freezing!
Random: DH's business partner is a great bartender but an absolute moron with running a business. They're working on signage for their new vehicles and he's insisting that they just need the image part of their logo, skip the company name and the website to make it "look clean." I keep trying to explain to him that they're not Nike, no one sees their logo and instantly knows what it is. The company name needs to be on there if they want to get business. It's painful.
I'm thoroughly enjoying switching to sweaters and sweatshirts. We had a fire in our fire pit twice this weekend. And I think I sleep better. Whether it's the weather or perimenopause, I don't get as hot at night when the weather is cold no matter how low the air conditioning is set.
Disclaimer, I will be over it as soon as Christmas is over and will want sun and warm.
GTKY: I live in CA, and not in the mountains, so "changing seasons" is relative. Fall and Spring are annoying. Because it's going to be in the 70's (or 90's), which is short sleeve weather, but start and end in long sleeve weather, and my wardrobe is never prepared.
Vent: It's my first day back from vacation. The number of emails I'm sifting through that don't include the any reference to the content of the email in the subject line is bothering me. I have SIX different invites for meetings tomorrow that are just some vague title like "update with Joe" instead of a client/prospect name so I know how to prepare. How are so many people - internal and external - able to manage their lives like that?!?!
Random. I am highly annoyed I'm not at the beach. From social media, 3/4 of the town in somewhere between Panama City and Gulf Shore. While I'm inputting data and shampooing carpets on my lunch. Plus, when we went in the summer, the weather was not ideal, and it looks amazing right now.
My only consolation is we have a trip to the mountains in a week and a half to see dd and ds.
One of the benefits of divorce and living a life of peace (kinda) is that I have twice the bedroom space so I never have to change out my clothes by season. I love having two dressers and all the closest space!
Well it was raining and cold this morning so I wore tall boots and a sweater dress because the forecast said rain all day with a high of 60. It is 1ish and sunny outside and I'm overheating in my outfit. I slept with window open and last night. The low was in the 40s and I agree with rere, that I sleep better with cool nights. It was also so sweet to listen to it rain.
We just told two different clients that we would not be working overtime or any extended hours to get their taxes done by the deadline. You've had 10 months to get your crap figured out. Your issues don't equal our emergency. Both of these clients owe big time and knew they owed way back at the beginning of the year (took $$$ out of retirement without any withholdings).

Grey skies and drizzle have started for the next 6 months, with the occasional sunny day. It just means a rain jacket and different shoes when I go outside, or getting muddy instead of dusty when we ride. It doesn't change our lifestyle much.
I was annoyed with my coworker this morning when she assumed that I would cover the whole day instead of the original 2-3 hours today. If I had known I was covering the whole day, I wouldn't have volunteered to cover for our other coworkers. But I immediately felt bad that I said anything to her because she was going to her post-op appointment for her breast cancer and then another test that she was able to move to today.
GTKY - I also sleep better when it's cold. But last night my room was 64 degrees, I slept in shorts and a t-shirt, and I was DYING with stupid hot flashes. But I love the cooler weather in general. It was great to watch soccer wearing a hoodie and a vest and not be sweating my butt off in the sun. Soccer weather is meant to be cooler, darn it!
Random - I am on day 3 of a mild migraine and stiff/sore neck. Usually when my neck acts up (old car accident injury), I can take 1/2 flexeril and advil at bedtime and be fine the next day. That typically happens like 4-5 times a year, and each time is the same - I take that combo and wake up fine the next day. Flexeril and advil haven't touched this. I'm uncomfortable.
I'm sleeping so much better now that our sunrise is at 6:45 am instead of 5:45 am. Also since our kids sleep later too.
It's still pretty warm here but starting to feel more like fall. I really like the way the light changes now (but I'll hate it post time change I'm sure).
We're headed to New Hampshire/Vermont this weekend and I'm worried I am going to freeze....or melt from rain
I love this time of year, so I'm welcoming it with pumpkin spice lattes, sweaters and fall scents. I'm also celebrating each day we don't have snow yet. Normally I like the snow too, but last year was a record setting year for snowfall and I'm still jaded....
