Qotw: Yes, we celebrate Halloween. I'm a little sad that this may be one of our last years really celebrating for a few reasons. We decorate (not as much this year), hand out candy, dress up, etc. As my kids get older they have gotten more into watching scary movies up to Halloween so we've had some fun family movie nights.
Leading Lady: A Memoir of a Most Unusual Boy by Charles Busch (uneven)
The Rising Tide by Ann Cleeves
Black Sheep by Rachel Harrison (good until the 50% mark)
Down the Drain by Julia Fox (a LOT)
The Raging Storm by Ann Cleeves
One of the Girls by Lucy Clarke (fun)
QOTW: Not really! We don’t have kids and our street isn’t the one that local trick or treaters go on in the neighborhood. Normally we have a movie marathon that night.

Slowly chipping away at Wrong Place, Wrong Time. It's picking up about 60 pages in, but it's slower than I'd like.
QOTW: I love dressing up and making somewhat obscure DIY costumes from TV shows and movies, but it's a year to year decision, often last min. Decorate if we think of it and/or have time, but not a big effort. We hand out candy if I'm home from work in time, however we don't get many trick or treaters
I am reading The Fragile Threads of Power by V.E. Schwab. The first section jumps around a lot and was a struggle for me, but I’m in the second second now and that seems to be more focused on a few characters and much easier to follow.
QOTW: I decorate a little, which I still need to do, and pass out candy. I think I’ve convinced my daughter to have a a few friends come over to pass out candy — this is the first year she’s not planning to go trick or treating, but she loves to dress up. We get TONS of kids and I don’t actually enjoy passing out candy, so I will happily bribe some teenagers to do it.

Still working on Pageboy and hoping to finish it this weekend. I'm not sure if it's the writing, or if I'm just in a general reading slump. I want to finish it before I start something else, but that hasn't motivated me to finish it yet.
QOTW: We do with the kids. We usually take them to a local kids expo the weekend before where kids dress up and they have activities, free stuff, etc. Then on Halloween we will go ToTing and leave a bowl while we're gone. We don't do much more than the basics though.
I read The Weaver and the Witch Queen by Genevieve Gornichec. I liked it a lot but didn't love it. It was similar to the other book I read by her in that I felt it had the potential to be great but didn't quite get there.
QOTW: I like to spend October reading horror novels and watching scary movies. I never have an excuse to dress up but wish I did. This year we might go help a friend hand out candy and I may try to come up with something simple.

Finished Suburban Hell and My Roommate is a Vampire. Both were meh.
Listening to Masters of Death which I am LOVING. Death's Godson, a Vampire, and a demon, a reaper and an angel are teaming up to rescue Death from "the game" which is being forced on him by the King of Vice. It's got a real Good Omens vibe.
Reading Strange Practice which I'm enjoying, but hitting me in a way given the Israel situation. A doctor for supernatural beings is helping them while being hunted by a supernatural order of monks trying to rid the world of "the unclean."
QOTW: Do you celebrate Halloween? Costumes, decorations, pass out candy, whatever else? We do it all. I love Halloween.
