Joran van der Sloot, the prime suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba, has admitted to killing the Alabama teen, a US federal judge said Wednesday.
“I have considered your confession to the brutal murder of Natalee Holloway,” Judge Anna Manasco said after reading van der Sloot’s proffer.
You have brutally murdered in separate incidents years apart two beautiful women who refused your sexual advances,” the judge said, referring to a separate killing in Peru in 2010.
Van der Sloot, the prime suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Holloway, pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges of extortion and wire fraud in connection with the Alabama teen’s remains.

He is the lowest piece of garbage. I hope this brings some small comfort to her family, I hope her passing was quick and I hope some terrible something befalls him.
I’ve honestly thought a lot about her over the years as weird as that is. I went to my high school grad trip to Cancun and definitely remember many occasions of going off with some guy. When she went missing I was settled into my 20s and definitely thought often of how easily that could have been me or any one of my friends.
There are no words to convey what a horrible shit pig of a human he is. The article states there would be no further effort to find her remains- I wonder if that is due to info he gave/they know they won’t be able to recover anything. I hope her family can get some closure from this.
He is such a piece of shit… he could have come clean and helped her family process after he was convicted of his second murder. Also, how does Aruba have a 12 year limit to be convicted of murder?!? I can’t believe that he will not be charged. Not that it matters, I hope his current prison is horrible enough to make home suffer for the rest of his life

I've had the same thought so many times. She's from my hometown and is the same age as my brother. They went to different schools and we didn't know her but I knew people who were on the same trip.
I'm sure it isn't really a surprise but this is just awful. I hope her family can find some peace
That POS seems like a good candidate for the death penalty.
How awful for Natalie's family to not be able to just put this all behind them and work on moving on in the best way they can find (which seems impossible).

It's always unsettling to be reminded that there are predators like him wandering around out there, blending in with normal people.
I've definitely had my "there but for the grace of god go I" moments.
I recently read an old article about two of her best friends and how they really struggled after she disappeared. I hope this brings them some peace as well.
This is hitting me so hard right now. I mean, we knew he did it, and we know he killed another woman, but to read that she was killed because she refused his advances just breaks me. Fuck toxic masculinity. Fuck rape culture.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

Reading that part reminded me of that expression "men are afraid women will laugh at them, women are afraid men will kill them."
I hope her family and friends are able to find some measure of peace.
