I started the Girls in the Garden by Lisa Jewell. I've been on a long ck where I try to read several books by the same author before moving to another author. I just finished several by Kayte Nunn.
I do enjoy hanging out with friends by a bonfire, but I would rather read by the fireplace. That's how I spent much of my winters once the last ds are in bed and H watches his shows.
I Found Puppets Living in my Apartment Walls by Ben Farthing, 2* (I wanted something for Halloween, but this was a little too weird for me. I might have liked it if I was afraid of puppets).
I am currently reading The Postcard by Anne Berest.
QOTW: It depends on my mood and what type of fireplace. I used to love sitting in front of our real wood fireplace in NY in the winter, gas just doesn't have the same cozy feel.
I (temporarily?) gave up on The Fragile Threads of Power. Maybe just not the right mood for it. Now reading Paul Doiron’s latest, Dead Man’s Wake. Solid mystery but less of the Maine setting details, which I miss, so I hope we’ll get there as it goes on.
QOTW: I’m in a bonfire mood tonight, but it probably depends on when I’m answering the question!
I'm reading A Haunting on the Hill by Elizabeth Hand. I was really looking forward to reading this to get into the Halloween spirit but it's just okay so far. Kind of slow, but I feel like that's common for haunted house books.
I'm also listening to Third Eye by Felicia Day. I'm not entirely sure it counts as a book since it was designed to be more like a radio play and audio only. It's fun though!
QOTW: Reading by the fire alone with a warm adult beverage sounds wonderful.

Finished Strange Practice. I liked it, but I love misfit group adventures.
Still listening to Masters of Death and am still loving it.
Started reading Dracul which is a fictional novel about Bram Stoker written by his great great grand-nephew, and Cruel Illusions about a teenage vampire hunter.
QOTW: Would you rather attend a backyard bonfire party with friends or read by a fireplace alone? if the bonfire is only my friends I'd prefer that. If it's a party that my friends and I are going to, I'd prefer the reading by the fireplace.
