Friday: "Bring your grown-up to PE" day (a surprisingly good workout, ha) Saturday: 2 mile shake out run Sunday: Half Marathon
Yesterday was my 1st half marathon in 2.5 years and I kind of crushed it! My main goal was under 2:10, with a stretch goal of under 2:05 and I finished in 1:59 I was not on pace to do that for the majority of the race, but around mile 9 I was still feeling good and realized if I really picked up the pace it may be possible, so I did the last 4 miles MUCH faster (around 8:45 m/m) and squeaked under 2 hours by 7 seconds ha. It felt good, I wasn't sure I had another sub-2 in me.
Friday: played with dogs Saturday: 3mi run Sunday: errands, errands, and more errands.
I'm purposely scaling back my runs to 3mi 3x/week and increasing my strength work - to hopefully help my Achilles - and I'm starting to see some benefits from it!
Friday: 3 mile run + strength Saturday: 45 min Peloton cycle Sunday: 30 min Peloton cycle
I think my 12 year old treadmill is finally dead. We replaced the control board and running belt in the last 2 years, but I said I was done putting money into it after that. Two of the buttons stopped working, and you need them to reset the "lube belt" prompt. I'm looking at the Horizon AT 7.0. Both H and I will use it, mostly in the winter. Total running mileage between us ~25 per week, and I will add maybe 3-5 more just walking so not exactly heavy duty use. Want to keep it around $1k. Open to recs!
