I really need to figure out how to add pics....
We're entering week 4, the addition has been framed, the steel beam is in - opens up the 20 ft loadbearing back wall. Area inside is gutted to the studs and I set up a temporary kitchen in our mudroom/bathroom off to the side.
We're already making some cuts/additions. We're cutting the kids' upstairs bath and just moving the plumbing beneath. That'll save ~$7K in materials. We paid an extra $3K for laminated beams and better structural framing.
Windows come in at the end of the month of November.
I haven't ordered cabinets- I'm going w/the walnut, budget be damned! Still deciding on the perimeter color but thinking BM Clay Beige (seems to read a nice balance of greige/beige in our room). Hoping to order by order of the week. The whole project will probably take until March (cabinet lead time is a minimum of 7 weeks....down from 12+ at least?).
I'm trying to get my ducks in a row to take advantage of Black Friday sales...
ETA: coordinating the moves of the electrical meter and gas have been a PITA....electrical in particular.

Good luck! Such a pain (and expense) to DO renovations, but I've never regretted anything after it's all done and in fact I consider it some of the best money I've ever spent.
