We just booked a Disneyworld trip for early March, since we found a good deal for All star music. We’ll be there for 6 days, but probably only doing 3 park days since ticket prices are painful for our family of 4. Will definitely do a pool/resort day, but any other interesting, affordable things to do off Disney property? (Not interested in espn, mini golf, etc)
We’re all from nyc and now live in NJ and I’m definitely missing easy access to art/museums/etc so would love a city culture day (if that even exists in Florida…)
Park tickets get to be a bit cheaper the longer you stay. Like there isn’t that much difference between a 5 day ticket and 6 day ticket. Play around with it…you may be surprised! Bookings for next year are soft so I bet there will be ticket deals as well.
Otherwise next time we go we want to take a day to visit the Kennedy Space Center in Port Canaveral.

We really enjoy the Orlando Science Center, my kids want to go there every time we're in FL.
Are you renting a car? There is a great museum in Daytona Beach- Museum of Arts and Sciences that has an attached Children's museum, but it's about an hour away.
Also, if you have a local membership to a science center or museum, they may participate in the reciprocity program and you can get in for free to either of these places.
How old are the kids? I think you could do a day split between Orlando Science Center, Downtown Orlando -- lunch in Thorton Park, walk around Lake Eola, maybe do the Orange Co. History Center. (It's an old courthouse turned museum... we actually got married there!). There's also Orlando Museum of Art, Leu Gardens, Park Avenue (nice strip with restaurants and shops near Rollins College in Winter Park... also has an art museum, Casa Feliz, there's also a sculpture garden that's name is escaping me). Basically this is turning into a list of things you can Google and see if your family would enjoy. There are also cool parks and playgrounds in Orlando, some bigger ones with springs... Rock Springs, Wekiwa Springs.
Omg, last time we were there we went to this highway roadside Showcase of Citrus... it was a hoot... Rode in a school bus/monster truck through citrus groves... there are food trucks and a playground and some random farm animals. Classic tacky FL stuff.
There's a fair amount of stuff to see in Orlando... it's not a big city by any stretch, but it is more than Disney World and the surrounding touristy areas.
I like Kennedy Space Center. We do it backwards to most. Last time we went to Florida (pre DeSantis) we stayed on the coast and enjoyed the beach. We did one day at the Magic Kingdom and a single night stay near there (we arrived in time to have a character dinner the night before) but went to the Space Center twice.
