BQ: What is your favorite American or Canadian Thanksgiving food or dessert? If you are outside of those countries, what is your favorite local holiday food?
Sunday: 20 mile mtb ride complete with a side Superman off the bike. My main injury are two very jammed fingers and a deep cut on my pinkie that can't get stitches. I'll be sore tomorrow.
BQ: Ummmm....all of them? I love turkey and gravy, mashed potato, sweet potatoes, apple pie, green bean casserole....
Friday: 2 mile run Saturday: Girls on the Run 5K Sunday: 6.5 mile run
I took a brutal fall on my run today. I was crossing a bridge and the sun got in my eyes and I tripped on an uneven sidewalk and completely wiped out. I laid there shell-shocked for a couple minutes, but miraculously aside from a 2 bloody knees and 1 bloody elbow I seem ok. I was able to run the 3 miles home, but damn, wiping out in your 40s is a different animal lol.
ETA: sorry you had a wipe out this weekend too, sadlebred!!
BQ: definitely stuffing and/or mashed potatoes with gravy!
No wipeouts this weekend, 20 miles on the bike and then a whole bunch of house projects.
I really enjoy the variety of the meal more than one part, but this is the only time all year I eat stuffing so I'd say that's what I associate most with the holiday.
scm1011 Yep! In our 40s, we have to make sure we aren't in shock, all of the extremities move, and we are actually able to get up. Thankfully there was riders about a minute behind me that stayed with me for a few minutes and gave me a pull to stand up.
lilypad1126 Does tofurkey count?? LOL! Years ago...like 20+ years. I was invited to a friend's house. We were both strict vegetarian at the time. She "cooked" a tofurkey, and her mom did a traditional turkey. The tofurkey was SO hard and rubbery, that she couldn't cut it. I had my first real turkey since about 1992 that night. It was sooo yummy.
