MSNBC just showed footage of this from Niagra Falls security cameras. Looks like the car that blew up was accelerating past another car, hit a median, flew for a bit, and then caught fire when it landed.
Not to be cynical, but given the driving I've seen in my area today, this accident doesn't surprise me at all.
Also not surprised that faux news immediately began covering it as a terrorist attack without waiting for facts 🙄
I saw that the vehicle could have been going up to 100 miles per hour - and it was a relatively new Bentley.
They shut down not only the 4 international bridges in WNY, but also international flights at the Buffalo airport (most if not all of which go to Canada).
Most news outlets that reported this are walking it back.
Not to say it's not, but it sounds like it's at best (worst?) unclear right now.
On the news it sounded like they 1) found no explosives and 2) it was a local guy so maybe that led them to assume not terrorism? I do wonder if it was suicide. Not a suicide bombing but just the way someone chose to end their life

I saw it was a husband and wife and wondered if it was murder / suicide.

CNN reported that they were supposed to go to a KISS concert but it was canceled so they went to a casino instead. Could have been driving under the influence in a powerful car.

I liked this, but immediately felt bad because I think it's the most likely explanation and it's sad 😔

State officials said yesterday that no flights were cancelled at the Buffalo airport.
Speculation is that the driver was trying to avoid getting flagged as a DUI and were trying to drive around the checkpoint, or something? Ordinarily a car crash won't cause a fireball explosion, but I guess they hit a barrier in just the wrong way.

They hit an angled median and launched into the air and into a concrete barrier.
