The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey, 3.5* (it was a good story and a great winter read, but it never really pulled me in)
The Quarry Girls by Jess Lourey, 3.5* (good book, but I wish I had known it dealt with sex crimes before I started reading. I usually try to steer clear of those books because I don't like reading about it)
Whistling Past the Graveyard by Susan Crandall, 4* (good book, but it never pulled me completely in).
I'm currently reading Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day by Winifred Watson. I'm struggling to get through it because I don't think it aged well, but I should finish it.
Qotw: I'll probably only buy books for my kids. My daughter has been studying Japanese for a few years so I bought her some easy reader Japanese books. I bought my son the rest of the Reckoners series and The Well (the second book in the Logan Family Saga). He read the first books of these series for Battle of the Books this year and asked for the next books in each of the series for Christmas.

Recently finished Iron Flame. I need the next book immediately! I had some dislikes about a couple storylines, how the MMC was acting, and lack of clarity on some things, but overall it was good.
Started The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi. I'm intrigued and like it so far.
QOTW: I'm not sure but maybe! My mom and sister have been reading some books I've shared with them and liked most of them. I'm considering giving one or both of them other books by the authors they liked, or maybe other similar books. The ones they both enjoyed were the Kristen Hannah and William Kent Krueger ones.
I was on a vacation where I had lots of time to read and got through 2 books. The Gown And The Winner I really liked the Gown. The winner was just ok. No plans for books as gifts. My kids are kind of off books right now 😞 and I usually don’t do books for others except SIL
I’m reading A Wretched and Precarious Situation by David Welky, nonfiction about Arctic explorers, and also rereading Water for Elephants. I wasn’t sure if I’d still like it 17 years after my first read, but I’m really enjoying it.
QOTW: probably will end up finding a book or two for my daughter, but nothing on the list yet for anyone. I’m not shopping for very many people this year.
I've been reading Fragile Threads of Power by VE Schwab. It's good but I am struggling to make any progress. This is an issue because I have several other library books that I need to read.
QOTW: I bought my niece a gift card for a bookstore in her college town and I may get MH a cycling book.

I still have this sitting on my currently reading list, but I may never go back and finish. I enjoyed the darker shades series but this one moved much more slowly, I thought.
I was on vacation and finished four books—all four star or above: The River We Remember, Let Us Descend, Divine Rivals and The Dead Romantics.
QOTW: I got my father-in-law the first in The Thursday Murder Club series, which I love, and I am participating in a book exchange through a patreon group I’m in for a book-related podcast.

Finished No Whisk, No Reward and Whisked Away. Both were not great and read like first drafts that needed more editing before publication.
Currently reading Sweet Coriander about a woman who was making all the desserts for a friend's wedding when a car crashed into her kitchen. It's better than the last two books I read!
Currently listening to Kissing Kosher about two people from rival baking families working together.
QOTW: Are you planning on giving any books as gifts this year? Got my mom, aunt, and MIL My Husband, got my kids The Latke that wouldn't stop screaming and Dreidels on the Brain. I need to pick up two more books for a friend's kids. I'm thinking My Fine Fellow and Spinning Silver...
