Wtf is wing with people? 3 incidents in 6 months on Korean airlines. And they think a preflight warning is a solution.
The only time I've been on a flight where they had to remind people not to smoke in the lav midflight was on Asiana from sfo to Incheon. Clearly a preflight warning wasn't enough.
Weirdly, I had a brief urge to do it and wonder what would happen on a recent flight from Mexico. It was a newer plane. I wonder if the newer design of them somehow are making them more obvious/visible or attractive to touch. That was kind of my takeaway from my random experience. I’m a pretty well adjusted and practical person.

I think many people wonder "what if" about many crazy things. It's one thing to let a bored mind wander about in imagination. It's another to actually act on it!
My SIL did this in a small plane as a kid (so, back in the late 60s/early 70s) Her parents basically sat on top of her as the plane made an emergency landing. I forget where they were headed, but they were pissed.
I can't fathom doing it on a larger plane. Like, have just a smidgen of impulse control - it's not like the things are super effortless to open. Yikes.
