Is something nibbling my strawberries? Some seem very nibbled, but other ones just have kind of a gash out of them, almost like they split while growing or something. Any ideas? I can't figure what would take what looks like a cut out of them.
I think ants were doing that to mine, that's what it looked like anyway. But I'm not sure since it only happens to the strawberries that are laying in the soil. If I drape them over the container once I see the fruit, then they grow just fine.
I saw my one and only strawberry that was almost ripe with an ant crawling in the area that looked like that. My 6 year old is going to be so upset. I might have to lie and tell him I picked it and put it in our fruit cups I'm making for a BBQ tomorrow.

My four year old is pissed that the ants keep eating ours.
