I finished Bright Young Women, which I did not love, and am now reading The Magnificent Lives of Marjorie Post. Seems good so far; it’s not a genre I choose very often but it sounded interesting when I was at the library.
QOTW: I usually read at least one Arctic or Antarctic exploration book in the winter, but that’s about as seasonal as I get.

Finished What the River Knows. It was good minus a couple things. But that ending left me with SEVERAL questions, so I'm glad there's going to be another book!
A little over halfway through the first Crescent City book. I see why people struggled through the first 100 or so pages. I wasn't overly invested in the story until after that point. But now I'm hooked!
QOTW: I sometimes try to read with the season, but I only occasionally end up doing it. It's not a rule but sometimes it's fun to read something along with the season.
The Devotion of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino with Alexander O. Smith (Translator) (people really hyped this up and it was fine but not amazing)
I Promise It Won't Always Hurt Like This by Clare Mackintosh (solid)
QOTW: I don’t go out of my way to read holiday books but I will if they are something I’d probably read anyway. I read one this year! I really hate Christmas/winter-y books outside of the season and do actively avoid them until it’s time. I don’t want to hear about snow in August!
I finally finished Iron Flame. Overall, I like the story but I am really irritated by the writing and editing. So many errors and inconsistencies!
I also read Black Sheep by Rachel Harrison. This was a fun, quick read and really what I needed after Iron Flame.
Most recently I started The Unmaking of June Farrow by Adrienne Young. It's too early for me to have much of an opinion but the premise is interesting.
QOTW: I really only do holiday-specific books around Halloween. I do find that I gravitate more towards cozy mysteries in the winter though!
I finished Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts,3*. This book should have been 2-3 books. The second half of the book felt completely different from the first half.
I'm currently reading Nothing More Dangerous by Allen Eskens.
Qotw: I only get into the mood for festive books around Christmas. It's funny though, because I don't usually like them.

Finished The Book Eaters, The Winter Garden, Pride and Prejudice and Mistletoe, and The Afterlife of Holly Chase. I LOVED Afterlife, enjoyed The Book Eaters and Winter Garden. P&P&Mistletoe was meh.
Started reading Sugar and Snow which is a continuation of the Nutcracker. Started listening to A December to Remember about three half-sisters brought together by the reading of their father's will and two quests he left for them.
QOTW: Do you like to read seasonal/holiday appropriate books throughout the year? I totally read seasonally - as evident by my list of books above. I liked winter/holiday in December, spooky in October, and summery in the summer.
I finished The Vaster Wilds, The Christmas Bookshop, Bookshops & Bonedust, and The Christmas Orphans Club.
QOTW: Yes, as you can see above, but I max out on about three Christmas books. I could read Halloweenish books forever, though, and generally like to do a lot of spooky stuff all fall, not just October.
