For some odd reason, I want a Switch. I used to have a Wii and played alot with my late husband (things like golf, soccer, hockey, etc). But once he passed, I never got back to using it.
I’m not over 50 but during the pandemic loved to play Animal Crossing, and now play Mario Party with my kids regularly. There are also a ton of Lego games I think are really fun for all ages!

Aww thanks ya'll! I had a bunch of gift cards to Target and I just ordered one to pick up later today. I have a long road trip the day after NYDay and It will come in handy.
Im 39 but I was literally playing switch all the way up until I had to leave for the dentist (in the waiting room now).
I like both Zelda games, Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Right now I'm playing a lot of Disney's Dreamlight Valley. I enjoy fishing with Goofy, cooking with Remy, and fetching things for all the characters in the movies from when I was a kid. Also you can't die, so it's nice for tuning out of the world and de-stressing.
I was obsessed with animal crossing during the pandemic. Somehow, my kids left the gaming cabinet open a few weeks ago and the only thing my dog got into and destroyed was the Animal Crossing game cartridge. RIP Paradise island.
I'm getting close to 50, as is my DH and we play frequently. He plays every day lately lol. Pikmin, whatever Mario game he's into at the time (currently switching between a new Mario Kart and Mario Wonder), Diablo 3. We play Diablo 3 as a family actually... although to make that happen we ended up getting 3 different switches and 3 different games. But we'll play that for hours.
I’ve heard Stardew Valley is fun, which is a farming-type game. Animal Crossing also looks good. I like the Mario and Legend of Zelda games, personally (and if Wind Waker for Legend of Zelda ever comes out on Switch, I’d definitely recommend that one. )
We love our switch! I used to play a lot with my late husband too, less so now, but that’s mainly because my kid hogs it. Lol.
I like Mario Rabbids, Animal Crossing, Overcooked, Cuphead, the Zelda games are great. Lots of great games to choose from! And the thing I love about the Switch is that you can go in and download smaller titles for a few bucks here and there to try out something new.
DS has a Switch and we play it a lot. H (47) and I (42) love to play the old school games (Dr Mario, Zelda, Mario etc). You need the online subscription to access them. It's like $19.99 a year but comes with lots of games.

I looked at that one and then put it back. I will probably go and get it. I ended up getting Zelda Breath of the Wild.
I’m very middle-aged and love my switch. I’m a fan of the Zelda games, Dragon Quest, and I just got sea of stars and my life as a teenage exocolonist to play this week on vacation. I picked up Fae Farm at my library, so I’d also see if your library has some to loan out!
My grandmother kicked my ass at all Nintendo games. And she'd just watch and laugh while I couldn't figure out Zelda. She taught me how to beat many of the Mario levels.
I'm more of a casual gamer (used to do a lot more though), and that's reflected in most of my favorite games. Almost all of the starred ones are good for a beginner or someone getting back into gaming. Or if you just want a fun, mostly relaxing game!
