My 14 year old wants cologne but won’t go shopping. I know what I like and I don’t think he will care what I get but didn’t know if there were trendy fragrances.

LOL my ds wears whatever samples I get for free when I get samples with 'free gifts' from Ulta and Sephora with orders. I think the most recent one I gave him was Givenchy Gentleman. No idea about trends for teen boys with this stuff, and I'm sure my ds cares even less, but he does like having SOMETHING to spray on the few occasions he has to really dress up.

Omg my 14yo is so into cologne. He has so much. He has two Coach fragrances from his birthday and Christmas last year and he got a Mont Blanc and something else for Christmas this year. I can’t stand it because I have scent allergies. Scent is so personal to your body chemistry. If he really doesn’t want to shop I might get the Hollister sample pack or if you want nicer ones I think Sephora has a cologne sample pack. I also got my 12 yo a few body sprays from bath and body works that I think are nice. If I could still smell cologne without my throat closing up, I always have loved the gaultier cologne scents
DS just turned 14. He wears aqua de goo, million, and bad boy. I got him a cologne sampler set from Ulta a year ago and he put the ones he liked on his birthday (Nov) and Christmas list. I’m so relieved he wants to smell good now. He freshens up without me asking now!!!!
Edit- aqua de gio. I’m leaving “de goo” above for whoever needs a January laugh
Not a mom of sons but I second Aqua de Gio...it's probably my favorite scent for men ever. Also recommend Polo Black. Neither seems like it would be too much for a younger teen boy either, assuming he doesn't overdo it lol

My DS is 13 and regularly complains about the cologne smells in his classroom, so he's definitely not going to wear any. That's fine with me! Just make sure you put that deodorant on before you kill us all!
The discussions around cologne at my house have been amusing. It did not compute with my kid that he needed to go into a physical store to smell them and sample them. Anyway, he (14 yo) just received some variation of the Viktor Rolf Spicebomb fragrance, and it's ridiculously expensive. But...his dad's girlfriend is trying to buy his affection, so I'll roll with it. lol. I personally don't care for the scent, but he loves it.
We told him he can't wear it to school & to think "whisper" and not "SHOUT" with the amount he applies
