In the last year a few former and current professional runners that have been on my radar over the years published books-Lauren Fleshman, Kara Goucher, and Des Linden. I "read" Lauren's on audiobook last summer/fall, just finished Kara's, and just started Des's. I felt like they shed some light on issues women face in professional running, plus Kara's account on her time with Alberto Salazar and the Oregon Project was super eye opening. Kara has kind of rubbed me the wrong way in the past based on how she came off in some interviews but hearing her side of things has definitely changed that. Has anyone else read them yet?
scm1011, I just finished it over the weekend and overall really liked it! There's a lot of back and forth between chapters recounting her running journey and chapters going over her Boston win bit by bit, so that took some getting used to. It's interesting to see a different sort of focus compared to Kara's and Lauren's books.
