Serious question: Did Cutie invent Clementines? Did they breed them or something? LOL
Basically a CA farmer brought them over from Spain after he had some crop problems. They sold well locally in the nineties and he kept expanding and marketing them until they were everywhere. At some point in the early 2000s he teamed up with the Pom Wonderful couple and they really know distribution and marketing! Then they hit the east coast about 10 years ago.
What's the best brand for dog food these days? We want to avoid grain free, right?
Yes avoid grain free. There have been reports coming out that it's not as good for dogs as thought to be. We had our dogs on it and switched when our 7 y/o developed a heart murmur. We now have her on Purina Pro Plan.
I work all weekend at my part time job and I’m kind of bummed about it. I don’t have Monday off and I really want my weekends back. Working 7 days a week is really tough.
I hear you and am sorry. every other weekend here and that also requires me to work a 7 day stretch every other week, and I hate it.
I'm contemplating switching up to working every weekend and then having Thursday and Friday off for a few months. It sounds awful but I can accomplish so much more with days off during the week.
Ugh I started coming down with a cold last night - just lots of post nasal drip causing a sore throat. Tested for shits and giggles and yep - mother ducking Covid
Our trip to upstate NY for tomorrow is off due to flight cancellation. I have one very heartbroken tween all up in my business right now while I am trying to make some alternate plans for the weekend. She has asked about 25 different varieties of "could we get there by THIS method?" No matter how many times I tell her the weather is shit, the flights are getting cancelled and it won't be safe to drive (it's an 11 hour trip), it is not getting through to her.
MH's family has some sort of congenital block to spelling my name correctly. My MIL spelled it wrong on our wedding rehearsal dinner invitations and still didn't learn. We just got an invitation to H's cousin's wedding and they spelled it SO wrong that I can't stop laughing. It's the wrong-est spelling I've ever seen.

I’m really hoping I can quit soon, I need to see what my raise at my regular job does to my take home pay. And make sure I have enough money saved for all the traveling we do during the summer.

wildrice We got a dog in September and my H was excited about it, but had been promising one to me for years. He tolerated her for a short while and then finally gave into the love and I think at this point he’s her favorite person in the house.

I don’t see how this is possible with social media and internet. I mean she could likely google and get your work or something.
DS2 started wrestling and is completely obsessed. He only has to go to 2 of 4 possible practices but wants to go to all 4. It's really cool to see your kids blossom doing something they love. Downside is I spend 6 hours a week waiting for him in the gym.
Ds3 (4) was evaluated in November & we just got the results - he doesn't score high enough for them to say 100% it's Aspergers (like DH & DS1) but scores high enough they think it is .... they are calling it "Noncategorical Early Childhood" and he has to retest at 6 years old since some of the behaviors could be from frustration due to the speech issues. He isn't ready for kinder next year but if we want OT & speech services through the school district we have to register him. We can't afford to keep him in private prek ($1k/mo), pay for speech ($200/mo) and pay for OT ($200/mo) so I guess we have to put him in kinder and just plan to have him repeat it.

He may not have to repeat it! Kindergarten terrified me, but the growth DS has shown the past 4 months truly blows my mind. Anecdotal, I know, but something positive to think about.

tacokick I thought of your tangerine woes the other day when my half sister was saying how in the UK the supermarkets all just sell "easy peelers" now rather than specifying the exact type of small orange you're going to get, and some are really tasty whereas some are blah. So apparently you are a citrus influencer, at least to me!

This would be the ideal! His preschool teachers don't think he is ready and based on his attention span/ability to sit still we don't think he is either. Maybe he will have a lot of growth though !

Hahaha! There are worst things to be known for than a passion for citrus.

I love that! My h loves animals, but animals LOVE my H. It is comical how they tend to run right past me and go to him. They will be thick as thieves in no time.
Daughter was able to reschedule her flight to Monday. Plus it’s only one stop, not two. I’m sure being able to spend two more days with her boyfriend didn’t hurt, either.

I reread my post and it should have said he was NOT excited about getting a dog 😆
My dog has to have surgery on Monday and I’m really nervous. I love this little dog so much and I’ll be devastated if something goes wrong or is very wrong . I swore when we lost our last dog that I’d never get another one and here I am.
What are the chances that all three dogs I’ve had in the last 15 years have had cancer?
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
I'm kind of bummed that we aren't even getting a little bit of snow from the snow storm. We're just getting some rain, lots of wind, and the frigid temps. I live in NE Ohio (just below the snow belt for my fellow Ohioans) and the lack of snow this year is really disheartening.
I'm incredibly jealous. Up here in Mpls, we don't have crap for snow - which is very unusual for us considering it's already mid-January. They are forecasting "maybe" a couple inches here. BOOO - I want a huge snowstorm!
9 hours later we have a half inch and it's stopped snowing!

We just finally arrived at Sugarloaf. I’m looking forward to a day of relaxation, napping and reading while DS and H and our friends ski tomorrow. Sunday I might venture out to the closest town and have some lunch.
