Last time we went with the kids to WDW they were 3.5 and 6 months and had a double stroller. Now the kids are 5.5 and 2.5 we are doing DL/DCA for 4 days, and we only own a single. We are staying right across the street from the gate at Desert Inn. Do we need a double stroller? I was thinking they could take it in turns, and worst case my DH will carry the toddler home, but is that silly? If we have to have a seat for each, would a cheep umbrella do? We’ve never owned one.
The plan is rope drop, stay through lunch then go back and take a break. Unsure how much we will do in the evenings.

I know Disneyland is much smaller than world and I have never done it with kids but the money we spent renting a double stroller for our 5 and 7 year old in Disney World was some of the best we spent on our trip.
If we had had a single stroller they would have fought over who got to sit in it.
It really depends on your kids. I took my older one to DL, just the 2 of us, when he was newly 5 and didn’t bring a stroller. We stayed open to close for 2 days and he happily walked the whole time. My younger kid is almost 6 now and there’s zero chance we’d go to a theme park without a stroller for him.
Depending on what type of stroller you have, you could make one work even if both kids want to ride. On my single bob, we often had the younger kid in the seat and the older one could sit in the foot rest area. You could also get a roller board for whatever stroller you have so one can stand and ride. I’m not a huge fan of umbrella strollers for Disney because half the benefit of a stroller is having a big storage area for all your crap 😁
Like the above poster, I would cram both kids on a single if possible. Or, cheap umbrella and your regular one. I did both ways at parks and they work. I never rented a double but depending on cost, I would have considered it (we had a cheap umbrella already).
Thanks, yeah the umbrella would be in addition to the one we already have. With the old huge stroller one a kid honestly could go in the basket under when necessary, but I’m not sure with the single it would work. We may do a day and if it ends badly go out and buy an umbrella for the rest of the trip, I don’t think I want to fly with another, but maybe I’ll get a $5 one off marketplace and leave it there. I’ll think about it. Thanks.
