I read Little Thieves by Margaret Owen and it was fantastic. I'm kicking myself because it's been sitting on my Kindle for over 6 months and I kept passing it up for other books.
I also read All Systems Red, the first Murderbot book. It was a lot of fun and I am working on the second book now.
QOTW: Not really. More rain and some wind tonight but nothing extreme.
I finished The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon, 3.5* (it was entertaining)
I'm currently reading Artiface by Sharon Cameron. I'm hoping to finish it tonight.
Qotw: It's going to get cold, but that's about it for here. I have friends that are posting pictures from back home and they've gotten a crazy amount of snow.

Finished Grave Expectations and Amongst Our Weapons. I really enjoyed both.
Started listening to Winter's Gifts, which is the most recent Rivers of London novella. It's follows a side character and I don't love it as much as the novels.
QOTW: Are you experiencing or expecting crazy weather? it's cold and wet, but that's pretty normal for this time of year.
Almost done with Honey & Spice. I almost gave up on it but it got into a good groove and became more interesting.
Listening to The River we Remember.
Would ideally love to finish both this weekend.
InDenver area, left a HS basketball game tonight in 8 degree temp, light snow and wind. Some of those kids were going to be so cold!! Super cold weather continues Thru Mon.
I just started The Awakening by Kate Chopin, which I remember loving in high school, and Presumed Innocent by Scott Turow, which I somehow missed in my long-ago legal thriller phase.
QOTW: Just very, very cold with a few flurries, but they’re predicting dramatic winds and potential power outages — hoping that part doesn’t happen.

Oh, I need to know if you end up having any initial impulse thoughts about gender for Murderbot. Like, obviously they're genderless. They say that. But in your brain do you find yourself gendering them, and if so in which direction?
Hi Book club! I want to actually remember what I've read 2024 and if I liked it, so if you don't mind i'd like to start chiming in here to prompt me to think about my books for a hot second. (my 2023 in books was a weird experience as I'm reviewing the list being like, "well....I think I remember reading that, but was it any good?)
I finished Fevered Star, the second book after Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse. definitely enjoying it as a series, though not 100% sure I'm loving the character direction in #2. I like it enough that i'm huffy that the third book isn't out till June.
Also finished Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare. Liked it enough I immediately added #2 to my holds, but it's not going to be a list topper for me. Premise is fun though.
QOTW - Our weather is very wet and my finished basement has flooded and to say I'm not thrilled about that would be an understatement.
wawa male, but really just because I imagine anything designed for violence would be male presenting more than female. It's not really based on their personality.

I didn't realize I'd conceptualized it as femaleish until I was like, "but....skarskgard is a dude. wut?" and then had to have a conversation with myself about it.
