Saw the NP for my Endo this week. When I last saw him, he moved me from Trulicity over to 5 of MJ. I have been on that for the last 4 months. I may have lost 5 lbs at the most. On this appt, I told the NP that I am just stuck and can we titrate up. So she called me in a script for 7.5 of MJ and then another for 10 MJ. She did warn that there were supply issues and she's right. I just got notice that the 10 MJ was filled and 7.5 was not available. So I still have plenty of the 5 so I will stick with that until the 7.5 is available.
I'm T2 and use the Dexcom g7 if that helps at all.
My insurance has been picky about coverages. I had the Libre before, but the new Libre 3 is bluetooth. I am looking forward to that rather than to constantly take my phone and wave it over the disk. And I hear that it's much smaller. I am just worried about accuracy.
I can’t fill my mounjaro anymore due to availability issues, and Walgreen’s has no idea when it will be back. Meanwhile my food thoughts are constant again, and I am snacking all the damn time. I basically need it to be a normal human (plus I have a type 2 diagnosis and my A1C was fantastic on it). I am worried about what to do next if Wegovy also has supply issues.
I skipped to page 10, but have you tried or heard of phentermine?
Honestly, anyone struggling with supplies or insurance I recommend looking into phentermine. It's $30 with no insurance and I've lost 20 lbs now in 3 months.

No
I don't know what this means, sorry.
I've had great luck so I wanted to make the recommendation since people are having issues with insurance and supply for their scrip.
My insurance is awful and refused to cover a single thing. There's coupons for a lot of pharmacies that brings it closer to like $10 as well for 30 days.
one tip, ask for a 90 day Rx when possible. Obviously if you're titrating up that's not a good option but I'm on 2.4 and having 3 boxes in my fridge has been great.
Also I tried vital protein powder today but HOW DO YOU MAKE IT DISSOLVE? Does it only dissolve in hot liquids because I'm an ice girl.
I don’t know if anyone answered but I dissolve it in warm water and then add ice.

texasharleygirl, I have used the Freestyle Libre 3 for almost a year, I've been pleased with what it does and it seems to have good accuracy. My doctor and a dietician are monitoring the results as well.
Let me know if you have any specific questions about it, I'm happy to try and answer.

Mine is bluetooth and it's so handy! I've almost always found it to be within 5 points. The exception is if I'm squishing it (laying on it) then it will give a false low until I move.

I get you're trying to be helpful. But.
I think you'll find most of us that are on this medication (MJ/Oz/compound) have probably tried it before with little/no success, or had bad side effects. Phentermine is a temporary appetite suppressant that can cause heart palpitations and other issues for a lot of people (it's speed-adjacent), and it's not recommended to be taken for longer than 3 months. I was on Contrave (wellbutrin and naltrexone) and hated it due to the side effects. So a suggestion that we just go and take phentermine is... tone deaf at best.
This is a manufacturer production issue because they can't keep up with demand. They need to fix their supply issues.

I think this is rather harsh. It was suggested in good faith as a possible option. Plenty of us haven't tried everything.

Fair enough. Seemed a little 'la-dee-da, just do this' when so many have struggled for so long, but I get that reaction too. Thanks for the check.
ETA: My ire wasn't entirely directed at PP, either - it was more to the manufacturers inability to catch up. But PP, I'm sorry my response is on the harsh side.

I just wanted to provide some potentially helpful info of something that has been a life saver, for me. I'm 100% not a dr so for sure I wouldn't expect someone to just go buy phentermine without a discussion with their dr. It's a scrip not OTC anyway.
I'm sorry Contrave didn't work for you.
I don't think everyone has issues with amphetamine drugs, as I did wonderful on Wellbutrin for depression and now phentermine, hence my rec to look into it for those having issues with their current med.

I've decided I'm not going to inject my Mounjaro in my stomach anymore because when I do I end up so nauseous and usually throw up the day after my shot. ugh Just barfed so much at work but now I feel much better. I'll stick to my arm or thigh. And I'm on my 2nd month of 5mg so its not moving up in dose or anything that is causing it. Anyone else have this issue?

I always inject Mounjaro in my stomach, but I've noticed that if I use my lower stomach I feel better, but it's not as effective.
egishere I think once you've been on a dose longer you could try stomach injection again and see if you react better. I did a stomach injection last week after 3 months on this dose and was fine but when I tried it after 1 month I got super sick.
I'm still very plateaued on Wegovy 2.4. And taking daily naps like I was on .25. I'm finishing out what's in my fridge and then going to see about going back down to 1.7. I've lost 43 lbs which is between 10-15% of my starting weight and maybe I won't lose more (15% is the average) but I would at least like to be less fatigued.

I want to clarify this so that if there is anyone lurking they don't get the misinformation.
Phentermine is not an amphetamine. It is a stimulant that works to suppress appetite. Due to being a stimulant, it is a controlled substance.
Wellbutrin is also not an amphetamine. It is an antidepressant that works for appetite suppression as well as smoking cessation. It makes up part of the medication Contrave, which also includes Naltrexone.
Phentermine should only be used for 3 months at a time due to the cardiovascular side effects
Contrave should be discontinued if there is <5% weight loss after 3 months.
pugz you look amazing! I love progress pics- they are so inspiring to me. Booo on fatigue though. That’s the worst.
I’m down 18lbs so far on Zepbound 2.5. Hoping for 10-12 by the beginning of June when I chaperone a bunch of high schoolers in DC for a week. Hoping less weight will make the miles of walking easier!
I have lost 15.8 lbs so far. My first check up is next week, so I am interested to see what my blood work says. I think 1.0 of Wegovy is the best dose so far. I still get hungry but my appetite is more suppressed than before. I still get really tired the day after my shot, does that ever go away?
I was able to get Ozempic! I could cry from relief. I forgot how all/consuming and constant my food thoughts were and my snacking compulsions, and I can’t wait to start it tomorrow morning and have peace again!! Here’s hoping I tolerate it as well as Mounjaro, which never made me feel sick.

I'm jumping on this train with you guys. I just got prescribed ozempic and was able to pick it up yesterday. Thankfully my insurance covered at 100%. Ideally I want to lose 60lbs and my A1C while in range is slightly higher than my cardiologist wants. I had a heart attack back on March 1 and reached my dry weight. I lost almost 60 pounds just in fluid while in the hospital. I am planning to start it on Saturday for ease of remembering and I've heard to horror stories on the side effects.

My insurance covers zero.
I tried Phentermine and it did nothing - no side effects but also no appetite suppressant or weight loss.
Then tried Naltrexone/Bupropion mix, and I lost, but very little. Then I had to switch doctors and the new one would not prescribe it (cause he never heard of it for weight loss which honestly made me rage!)
Currently using Saxenda which I get out of the country and have lost about 17 lbs since December. I am considering switching to Mochi to get the compounded version of Wegovy which would hopefully be a bit more effective.

I hit 50lbs loss yesterday!! I never, ever thought I'd be able to do that in my life. I still have about 20 to go (though DH is hinting that he's happy with where I'm at currently), but I am just SO happy with this progress. This medication is literally a miracle, and I'm so grateful that it exists.
pugz, you look great! The progress is definitely noticeable!
