I went in 2019 (with an overnight ferry to Turku, Finland).
I stayed at Langholman Hotell, which is a converted prison (so one room is 1 1/2 cells-- one cell is the bed and a table, the half cell is a bathroom.) The breakfast was really good. It was about a 15 minute walk from the Stockholm's Centralstation, with one decently steep hill, but even out of shape I was fine.
I did a few free museums (mostly stumbled on them while walking around)-- www.medelhavsmuseet.se the Medieval Museum (which was partly cool because of location, under a bridge, but now it looks like it is temporarily closed to move the location... I do not see a date for reopening. medeltidsmuseet.stockholm/en/ )
I also paid for Vasa Museum ( www.vasamuseet.se/en ) and Skansen (open air museum and zoo). I'd do either again. Make sure you get in on one of the English audio tours for the Vasa if you go.
Did a train trip to Uppsala, but I could have skipped that, as I've seen a lot of castles and cathedrals in many countries. Not saying it's not worth going, but my feet were hurting, and there was some kind of big march/protest going on in the area and I prefer to completely avoid anything like that when I have no clue what is going on (and usually even when I do).
Also, try the cheese doodles (look similar to puffy cheetos). Odd taste at first, and then very addicting. I was told/warned about them, and they were right (brought a bag back for the person who recommended them).
One day I was tired and just wanted to walk to a McDonalds and eat something/use wi-fi for a couple minutes. The food was way better than in the states! (I don't go to other countries to eat fast food, but sometimes you just have one of those afternoons.)
This is a quick copy of what I had saved on my google maps for the trip. I didn't get to all of them, but did get to most (notes about times and price may be outdated).

I didn't spend that much time in Stockholm, but when I went for work a few years ago I did take time to visit the Vasa museum and Skansen and had a lovely lunch at Skansen.
If you're into craft beer, I can recommend Omnipollos hatt in the Gamlastan (old town) area. They have good pizza as well.
