It's been a while since the last one (Oct. 2022, I think).
I want to start making whole wheat sandwich bread at home. But I'm still looking for something reusable to store it in. I was reading past eco-friendly posts, and the beeswax wraps got mixed reviews. Suggestions?
Still loving Stashers re-usable sandwich bags (in place of ziploc), stretchy silicone bowl covers, and wool dryer balls. We've been using cloth napkins instead of paper towels for a while.
Since last post, have started composting, using laundry sheets, become MUCH better about using my reuseable shopping bags every single weekend, HiBar shampoo and conditioner bars, and switched the family back to bar soap instead of bottled.
I really like the Progressive (brand) Expandable Bread Keeper. It has vents and you can adjust it to fit the size of the loaf. Homemade bread keeps like a full week in it.

I hate my wool dryer balls, but I still use them instead of anything else.
I bought the Ello reusable bags, and they’re so much better than any of the other “ziplock” bags we have. And I like how they come in so many sizes.
Pink Lemonade continues to have the best reusable pads and pantyliners, but I’m so grateful that CVS carries Thinx undies now (and they’re not super expensive anymore).
I’m also taking a class through my fellowship on green chemistry and trying to find ways to make my room more eco friendly without compromising the lab education experience.
What can I do with glass pump jars from lotions that are now empty?
My most used sizes of silicone bowl covers recently died on me (i.e. I went to put them on something and they snapped) - I've had them since 2019, so not super mad about that. They served their time I think? But I do need to replace them. Any specific brands people like? I think the last ones I got I just puchased whatever popped up on amazon, and I'd love to avoid amazon this time around. And I don't need a multi-size set - I just want to replace the three that got the most use. (i.e. the size of my one mixing bowel that doesn't have a lid, the size of a standard can, and the size of our small plates we use to cover a plate of leftovers when somebody only eats one bite and isn't hungry anymore)
I got H some Food Huggers as a stocking stuffer this year, but he hasn't used them much. I should move them in the cabinet to a place he runs into them more often, to get a better sense of how well they are working.
I bought dry erase markers to label and date food in containers in the fridge. That has been helpful at cutting down on food waste, using things in date order, and not using single use (masking tape) labels.
I have mostly stopped buying and using tampons, and switched to a Leia cup. The transition has not been entirely smooth, but it's been a few months and I'm getting there. I also bought a few pairs of period underwear to try this month to cut down on pads/liners.

Thrive Market has a set for $9.99 with good reviews, but it's a multi-size set.
Not a product rave per se, but a bulk item shop opened in my neighborhood this year and now I get all my laundry detergent, dish detergent, hand soap, pasta, coffee, spices, flour, etc there. You just bring a container (or take a free one from the donation bin there) and pay by weight. Its been a real game changer both environmentally and cost wise (its VERY affordable).

Not specifically eco friendly but I love my clear glass Pyrex bowl set with the plastic lids. It keeps things like salad fresher for a lot longer than any other container I’ve tried and can be used for serving, storing, re-heating, etc. so I use less dishes.
