We're having painting done next week, and I'm at the deadline for picking out colors. We've been slowly painting everything, but its been a process. Each room had a different color trim, and there's tons of molding/shutters to change.
This project includes the front hallway and the adjacent dining room. We're changing over to alabaster trim for everywhere, and front entry is Gossamer Veil (matching upstairs hall).
What are good dining room colors? Our house style is pretty traditional farmhouse, not going for the modern farmhouse look. Are greens ok? The family room next door has sagey/tan trim and walls (very hard to describe, but looks nice).
I would start with this palette (taking a guess on the age/style):
My house is a bit younger (more arts & crafts than farmhouse) so I stretched and did a deep red dining room. I love it! ETA: red is supposed to spark conversation and appetite

Ditto OPs - I'd go with the Benjamin Moore historic colors collection. I love green for a dining room - it goes well w/major holidays too (Easter, Christmas). Our mudroom is Gulliford Green - it has yellow undertones (though not too much). Some of the greens have more grey or blue undertones. What works really depends on your light and space (North facing rooms tend to read darker/bluer). Ideally, you'd pick the rug first and then the color, but all of these colors are pretty common so you should be able to find coordinating fabrics/rugs after.
This is the inspo pic that I used as the basic idea for my current DR. I painted SW Moody Blue, and I've been really happy with how it's slowly coming together.

Thank you all! Helps to have others tell me in on the right path. I took out the pics because internet, but appreciate the kind comments about my house!

Now off to look at paint samples in the morning…
Just FYI, sherwin Williams has a free virtual color consultation. I did it last year when I thought I wanted a bolder blueish color but couldn’t find the right one. I uploaded pics of my area and the consultant helped me focus on neutral colors with some suggested colors. I bought the samples of her suggestions but they were a bit too yellow in my room but it gave me a group of colors to focus on. I think I scheduled everything online and will do it again!

Yellow? Obviously the only color for you is teal/blue. She should be fired.

Thanks! So I actually have done it a couple times. The first time was when we moved in and she was great at colors for kitchen, and the whole upstairs.
This time, it was ok. The ideas she gave were very blah, just like super trendy, neutral tones, where I’d like a bit of color in the room. I would definitely do it again if we paint more, just didn’t have quite as great an experience this time.

Thanks everyone for the help! Just to update, they finished painting yesterday and I love it! Still need the shutters back up, but here’s the before and after if anyone’s curious. Ended up with SW evergreen fog. I know it’s super popular, but didn’t have the time to try a bunch of things so wanted a sure thing.
