⬆️ Love this! And I especially love that it automatically increases. It makes me so angry the Gov’t has debated $15 minimum wage for over 15 years and the least they could have done is pass some sort of % / yr increase which would have negated the argument about a huge jump impacting small businesses (but now we absolutely need a huge jump). Federal minimum wage has been $7.25 since 2009 and 20 states still have that as their minimum wage.
There’s still so much more we could do for low paid workers though. So many places cut hours so people aren’t working 40 a week consistently to avoid overtime or not pay benefits, but it’s tough to juggle 2 jobs like that.
