I’m picked up the first of another mystery series, this one focused on the national parks. Apparently I like wilderness-ish mysteries? It’s called Vanishing Edge by Claire Kells — pretty good but I have not had a ton of reading time.
QOTW: I really love Sense and Sensibility with Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet. I have read and enjoyed the book, but I’m not attached to it, so can just enjoy the period-piece loveliness without comparing it at all.

Finished The Eyre Affair and Miss Aldridge Regrets. Both were pretty good mysteries, but I preferred Miss Aldridge Regrets.
Read The Latch Key, which is a short story that's part of The Regency Faerie Tale series. I wanted to finish out before starting Longshadow because it's about the same characters.
Started listening to Longshadow which brings back characters from the first book in the series, though this one follows Abigail and her ghost-brother Hugh as they try to figure out who is killing eligible young ladies in London.
Started reading A Lady's Guide to Fortune Hunting which feels very Austen-esque in that it deals with a family of daughters who are left with nothing after their parents died (Mrs. Bennett's greatest fear) and so the oldest must find a wealthy husband to save them all.
QOTW: What's your favorite TV or film adaptation of a book? Definitely Good Omens. Michael Sheen and David Tennant do such a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life.
(Although The Princess Bride and The Big Sleep definitely rank fairly high as adaptations go)
The Sleeping Dictionary by Sujata Massey, 5* (excellent book, I watched the movie and was disappointed it only used the idea of the sleeping dictionary and changed everything else).
Orbiting Jupiter by Gary D. Schmidt, 5* (I wasn't expecting to like this book. It didn't have much depth, but the author still managed to make it emotional. However, I don't know if I would have liked this book if I had read it as a child.)
The Girl With the Louding Voice, 1* (I finished it, but only because I skimmed most of it. The writing style ruined the story in my opinion).
I'm currently reading The Little Liar by Mitch Albom. I've heard so many rave reviews for this book, but so far I'm only finding it ok.
QOTW: I know there are more, but these are the only two that come to mind right now: A Man Called Ove (2015) - not the American version and All the Light We Cannot See
The Sleeping Dictionary by Sujata Massey, 5* (excellent book, I watched the movie and was disappointed it only used the idea of the sleeping dictionary and changed everything else).
I don’t think the movie (the one from like 20 years ago?) is related to the book at all. They are just both based around the same term/concept.

You are right. I was hoping they would be similar, but they were not.
I finished Rogue Protocol and started Exit Strategy from the Murderbot series. Still enjoying it.
I read Here to Avalon by Tara Isabella Burton. I have mixed feelings about this. I loved the story and it went in directions I didn't expect. At the same time, some of the characters were so heavily overwritten that they were just caricatures.
I’ve got a variety of books in the works, hopefully I can knock out a me soon.
Listening to Leave Only Footprints: My Journey through Every National Park. I like it, different than I expected though.
Reading the Echo of Old Books and Threads of Life: History of the Eorld through the eye of a needle. Both good so far. Haven’t had a lot of time to read this week.
QOTW: Whenever this question comes us, the first one I think of is Dancing with Wolves. I’m not sure why I blank out everything else from the last 30 years. Outlander series would probably be the other one, especially the first season. It was like they were in my brain. The Nc location is very different to in my head than TV.
Clockwork Prince by Casandra Clare, second in a series. It's good. Not amazing, but a fun setting for a rather tropey young FMC fantasy with a side of romance. Is this YA? I dunno. it's fun.
QOTW: Good Omens. It was such a good job updating references to bring it modern but keeping so many things that literally made me clap and kick my feet from the book. Loved it.
