We currently have a trip planned for the end of this month. Due to some circumstances out of our control, we may need to reschedule our trip. We are doing 5 nights, 4 park days. We were planning the end of this month because our kids have a couple of days off school, so they would only need to miss 2 days of school. If we reschedule, we will likely need to wait until they are out of school to not miss 3-4 days. They get out the Friday before Memorial Day. We would probably go Saturday of Memorial Day weekend until the following Thursday. The crowd calendars say that Memorial Day weekend actually isn't that busy, and might even be less busy than when we are scheduled to go because of a cheer competition the first weekend in March.
All that said, has anyone gone Memorial Day weekend that can weigh in on crowds? I know weather will be hotter for sure, hopefully not brutal.
Our kids are 10 and 7. We are currently scheduled to stay at Wilderness Lodge. However, everything is available Memorial Day and is less expensive than our current trip. Our plan is 2 MK days, 1 day HS, 1 day Epcot, but we also have hoppers and will do what the kids want. I can see them wanting to do HS more than once because of Star Wars. We were in Disneyland last January and they LOVED the Star Wars area.
So, what resort would you choose? We are torn between a monorail resort and being close to Epcot/HS. I can see us spending equal time in both MK and Epcot/HS. I know everyone adores Poly. Does the current construction play a factor in a decision? Beach Club is available for $1200 less for our whole trip vs. Poly, if that weighs in. Or Grand Floridian? Any Deluxe is what we are looking for advice on.

I've never stayed at a monorail resort or WL, so I can't comment on those.
You can walk to Epcot and HS from Beach, Boardwalk, and Yacht. I wasn't fond of Boardwalk, I liked Beach and Yacht Club a lot more. Beach is more kid-friendly IMO, so given the cheaper price I would probably opt for that vs a monorail resort.
Riviera is a DVC-only resort, they very rarely have regular bookings open, except for their tiny 2 person studios.
Definitely Beach Club. You can't beat being able to walk to two parks, and bus service to MK has always been good when I've stayed in the Crescent Lake area.
