The investigation found Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified military and national security information, but he will not face charges.
In the report, Hur noted that Biden cooperated with the investigation and returned the classified documents once they were discovered — noting the significant differences between this case and the one against former President Donald Trump, who was charged last year in relation to his handling of classified documents after he left the White House.

My jaw dropped when I read some of excerpts about Biden’s memory. I feel like Hur was trying to pull another Comey here, but at least it’s not October?
I don't know what to think about remembering dates.
I struggle with remembering when things happened and dates, but that's tied to me having dyscalculia. (So if you're my friend I'm sorry if I don't remember your birthday!)
So, it could be that he's old and his memory is going... or maybe he's been like this forever.

And in his press conference today, he confused Egypt with Mexico while discussing Gaza. I get it, people make mistakes all the time. But this is the man supposedly in charge of our country, not just messing up something relatively trivial like a friend’s birthday.

The optics are really, really bad.
Biden has always been a bad speaker, though. This isn't new.

The optics of this happening during a press conference after this report putting further doubts about his mental capacity are really bad, regardless.

And yet trump confuses pelosi and Haley. Says we're headed into ww2. Talks about George Washington and airports. The list is extensive.
Do I think it's concerning? Yeah probably. Do I think it's degrees worse than the pathological narcissistic wannabe dictator who attempted to overthrow peaceful transfer of power? Fuck no!
This is our lot, and I'll stand behind the guy who doesn't buddy up to dictators, give tax breaks to billionaires, suggests we inject bleach, who has job growth and inflation control... It's not ideal but there's only one option. It's never ideal.
I think all these things can be true- he's bad with names and dates, his memory is getting worse, he shouldn't be running at this age, Donald Trump's memory is much worse and more dangerous in all these areas, our whole system has failed that allowed him and encouraged him to run again...

I think Biden’s too old, yes, and he’s running against someone who is also too old. But one of them wants to be a dictator and the other doesn’t, so I’m still Ridin’ with Biden.

Plus, I don’t think this is a compelling example of cognitive decline. He’s a stutterer and also I sometimes call my kids by my dogs’ names. I think the Israel/Mexico thing was an example of that, but the big difference is I’m not calling my 10-year old Yoshi in a press conference. So he has to prep prep prep for these pressers so this isn’t an ongoing thing throughout the election cycle. It’s going to bad enough without these gaffes.
I am concerned about the report but the more I read about it the more I am convinced that it is a partisan attack on Biden.
Agreed. I've seen several pieces that talk about how many ways this report was wrong.. Basically every recent special counsel has been a republican - investigating other republicans or investigating democrats. Dems appoint a R and R's also appoint an R. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Department_of_Justice_Office_of_Special_Counsel

It seriously sickens and terrifies me to think about what this ejection cycle will be.
Three House committee chairs wrote to Attorney General Merrick Garland last evening to demand a transcript — plus any recordings — of Biden's interview with special counsel Robert Hur.
The GOP letter gave the Justice Department a deadline of next Monday to produce the records. On a separate track, House Republicans are preparing to call Hur to testify, likely before the House Judiciary Committee. They admit they have both political and evidentiary aims:

I really wish this is what was happening this year, lol. Let's eject them all.
I agree that people of all ages mix up words all the time and that alone doesn't concern me. Does Biden no longer know the difference between Egypt and Mexico, or did he just accidentally say the wrong word? The former is a problem, the latter is not alarming though annoying from a "fuel for fire" perspective.
Biden is definitely going to be a "hold my nose" vote this year for a large number of reasons, mixing up words is the least of them. But short of him dropping out of the race, I do not see another viable option.
