1. I've disliked Christmas as an adult. I know it is because it is cold and dark, but I realize that it is because I also spend all month shopping and part of November. And, I'm not really a fan of shopping. My favorite holidays are those focused on food and just hanging out and doing fun things.
2. I would pick super speed, so I can speed clean my whole house in 10 minutes.
3. So many, how do I pick. Poor communication maybe? I am not usually the grammar police and have plenty of typos here, but there is one lady in our neighborhood FB group that cannot write an actual sentence and supposidly she has a degree in early education. She cannot spell, form thoughts properly, nothing. It's not just me, most people don't know what she is trying to say in the group.
4. I don't have one, and usually don't Karoake, but now I am feeling like if I pick a Taylor Swift song, I might actually know some of the words.

1. Thanksgiving. It used to be Christmas but I’ve become disenchanted. Thanksgiving is so much lower key and even with all the cooking I feel I get to relax more.
2. Oh this is hard. I think I’ll piggyback on super speed. That sounds useful.
3. Lately, when people ask me questions or to give them a tutorial on something I have provided training and instructions for without ever trying to sort it out themselves first. This is a very work-specific peeve.
Also when my kids leave glasses and snack wrappers lying around.
4. I used to work a late shift job many, many years ago and we would often karaoke and my go-to song was Black Velvet. Now if karaoke it is at home and I mostly stick to musicals with my kids and the occasional old country song with my mom.
1. Maybe Thanksgiving? I do love Christmas too, but Thanksgiving might edge out Christmas. 2. I would be able to read minds. And influence thoughts along with it. 3. People who don’t follow through on things. If you tell me you’re going to do something, please just do it. 4. I don’t sing in public other than happy birthday. But if I did, I would go with Maddie & Tae’s Die From a Broken Heart.
1. What is your favorite holiday and why? Christmas. Not really the day, but the entire season leading up to it. The movies, carols, decorations, events, mood.
2. What superpower would you pick? teleporting. It would save me so much time and money if I could teleport myself places.
3. Pet Peeves? Someone sitting in a bathroom stall directly by me if there are several open. And athletic shoes, like hiking or running shoes, not cute small ones, with a dressy blouse or sweater with nice jewelry.
4. Go to karoake song? there has never been enough liquor in this world to get me to karaoke.
1. What is your favorite holiday and why? I do usually love Christmas. I love baking, decorating, movies, music, light displays. I don't like shopping or receiving gifts, but I do like to watch people open gifts that I've carefully selected. I'm a terrible gift giver though.
2. What superpower would you pick? I would like to be able to split myself into parts to do some errands/running around, but then come back together for fun stuff.
3. Pet Peeves? Too many to list. Bad communicators. Mansplaining, especially from people senior to me at work but with muuuuuch less experience, and they're explaining my areas of expertise, and they're wrong. Disrespectful people. The biggest one, though, are people that believe that the rules don't apply to them - they jump the line at a red light by being in a turn-only lane to go straight; ignore the rules/signs at school pick up because tHeY're In a hUrRy; they cheat to win at youth sports. I hate those people.
4. Go to karoake song? I would never be caught dead doing karaoke - my social anxiety won't allow for such things.
1. What is your favorite holiday and why? Thanksgiving. I hate the historical background, but love the food and routine.
2. What superpower would you pick? Teleportation. I hate to travel but I love being other places.
3. Pet Peeves? So many. Entitlement, people talking while I'm talking, interrupting, people (men) who don't share the sidewalk, when people are late or don't show or are unkind. I guess all of that is entitlement, lol
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
1. What is your favorite holiday and why? Thanksgiving. With my family, it's super chill and we basically eat in our pajamas before prepping for shopping the next day. With H's family, three of them are professional chefs so the food is always out of this world. It's all the fun of seeing family without the stress of Christmas.
2. What superpower would you pick? That's tough! My kids always say I look exactly like Elastigirl, so we'll go with that! lol
3. Pet Peeves? Lateness. I cannot handle when people are late to something because they just lost track of time.
4. Go to karoake song? There's not a chance in the world I would do karaoke in the world, but at home I can certainly belt along to show tunes when no one is watching!
1. What is your favorite holiday and why? Thanksgiving. Fall is in the air and all we have to do is make food and eat it. People are usually happy and way less maintenance than they are on Halloween and Christmas. (I really don't like Halloween. Just saying...)
2. What superpower would you pick? I would love to be able to phrase difficult questions to people in a way that they don't feel threatened and do feel enabled to give an honest answer. Eg. when asking a perspective employer why they didn't hire me or asking a parent of a child's former friend why - from their perspective - did the friendship fall apart.
3. Pet Peeves? mansplaining, especially from H; hypocrisy and people who claim to know more about something because they did their "research" (ahem, Google) than those who have devoted their lives to learning about said topic.
4. Go to karoake song? Like a Prayer and Like a Virgin
dglvrk2 , I've been very hot and cold with Halloween. Baby and toddler years, DH traveled for work. Absolutely terrible.
School age- used to go with neighbors and it was really fun especially when the kids are old enough to not need me.
Tween drama Halloween, back to being terrible again. I am strongly considering having DD either hand out candy next year or go to a totally different neighborhood. Fingers crossed that someone asks her to go to their neighborhood, and I am out of it altogether. I've been trick or treating with kids for 13 years- I am ready to be done.

I'm at the point that I want to take DD1 out of town, to somewhere else she enjoys instead of doing Halloween again this year. It was fun through elementary school. Then....

I like the idea of a weekend away maybe just DD and I. Unfortunately we still have school on Nov 1, but would have been perfect if the school was closed that day since it is a Friday, so it sounds like I have to stay in town. We could maybe just go out for a nice dinner if she is willing.
1. What is your favorite holiday and why? Memorial Day. We go visit friends no one wants or expects anything from me and I'm not pulled between family.
2. What superpower would you pick? Mind Reading
3. Pet Peeves? Right now clients who can't figure out they need to schedule appointments to see us.
4. Go to karoake song? I'm not even allowed to sing along to the radio as I'm that horrible of a singer. Even the dog buries her head. I whisper sing happy birthday when we are out in public.
