I have always found orcas fascinating. I remember watching a documentary once (can't remember which, probably a BBC doc) that talked about how different orca populations have different cultures and even different accents.
Here on the Salish coast, we have a population of resident orcas that has been under threat for some time. Unlike the transient orcas who migrate and hunt mainly seals, the residents' main diet is salmon and the salmon population is dwindling. The residents are starting to display new behaviour, hunting the occasional seal. It's also no surprise that during COVID lockdown, when there was much less marine traffic, the resident population started thriving again.
