We went to a college hockey game last night and had a great time. We can go to practically a whole season of college games for just about the price of maybe two Bruins games (when you add in parking and the price of concessions at the Garden). Bonus; the college is a ten minute drive vs.30-40 mins to Boston. We lost, but all around a great time anyway. DS has baseball practice later this morning and tomorrow night. Other than that, no big plans.

Currently freezing in the rink for a 6:50 game and we’re getting smoked. I hate when they have to play an all boys team. I’m going back to bed after this! 2pm soccer game and 4pm playoff basketball game this afternoon.
I have a work event this morning, but should be done by lunchtime. Then a solo 5 hour drive home. I usually fly to this location, but it didn’t work out this time. It should be an easy drive and I’m looking forward to not dealing with an airport this afternoon, lol.
No plans for once I’m home besides sleeping in my own bed and getting a good workout in tomorrow. I can’t wait!
I have my cumulative assignment/paper fory research statistics class today. God grant me the strength to write about linear regression one more time.
I'm trying to decide if I should participate in the pre commencement/ commencement ceremonies and/ or have a graduation party for myself. I feel too old and it seems possibly silly? WWYD? As background, my school is also my employer and I typically also do attend commencement with leadership staff, so I'd be there either way.

starburst604 liking for all the fun you will hopefully have this afternoon, not the freezing and early hour.
DS1 has track practice, I need to grocery ship, DS2 is getting a haircut, have to get in all 3 kids to put up their clean clothes and tidy their rooms, DS2 and DD need to finish 2 books, and DS2 is going to a sleepover.
The weather should be great here all weekend. I need DH to help me change my bike's tire tube and hopefully we can ride bikes to lunch tomorrow.

Do a full on Patsy Baloney graduation parade of one down your street. Yes, attend as the graduate you are!

It’s my morning to get up and stay up with our daughter for the first couple hours and she’s still sleep at 8:45 wahoo.
I have no clue what I want to do this weekend. Torn between just doing low key things around the house/our neighborhood vs doing something like going to a museum or some other outing. Maybe will play it by ear and go for a walk later or get on the subway and see where the day takes us!
DS has Little League "tryouts" this morning for the 7/8 year old instructional league. Everyone gets to play, but I guess they do this to see who to put on what team. H is taking him. As I've posted about before, I have trouble watching him at practices and worrying about his sometimes goofball behavior, so I'm glad I don't have to go, lol. I am not worried about him performing well or anything, just hope he listens and does what he's supposed to.
I don't have anything all afternoon. I think it's going to be cool and rainy so probably just some cleaning and tidying and relaxing here. H is going to a little reception for his uncle who just retired from coaching high school football for a million years. I'm letting him do that alone because I do not care to BS about high school football for hours, but he loves it.
My mom's coming up tonight to sleep over and watch DS and we're going out to dinner with 10 other people. Should be fun. We'll see how it goes though, the restaurant just recently reopened and I think they're still finding their footing. As long as we have alcohol we'll be fine with a long wait though, lol.

Heck yes! Especially to throwing a graduation party. 1) you earned it 2) everyone loves a reason to celebrate
Got home from Dubai last night and happily slept a full eight hours at normal hours, so hoping my jet lag won’t be too severe! We have a playoff basketball game this morning and then I have a zillion things I need to do around the house. Hoping to take the kids to the zoo or somewhere tomorrow for some fun!
I went into the office on Wednesday, and realized somebody sitting near me was sick (wet cough, hoarse voice, dirty tissues, etc), so I thought “ugh I’ll move as soon as this call is over.”
Went to a conference room for the next thing, sick person was there, as the presenter 😬😤 my VP was in there so I didn’t feel I could turn around and walk out.
Predictably, I woke up sick on Thursday, and am still sick and getting serious cabin fever. So, nothing interesting for me today.
There's a mostly outdoor event we're planning to go to in a nearby city and of course it's raining. We so rarely have a free day actually line up with something like this so I'm annoyed. We're in the car and on our way, hoping the rain clears at least a little by the time we get there 🫠
Any recs for lunch near the waterfront in Baltimore?
jane6672, hate that. Hope you feel better. The pollen is in full force here so a lot of people sound congested. However, a couple coworkers’ “allergies” sounded suspicious. I’m trying to stay away.
I rarely leave the house anymore unless it’s to go to the office or medical appointments. I feel like I have gotten too comfortable not doing anything and it seems from talking to other people that many are feeling the same way.

I have to go to a baby shower today, and j don’t want to. It’s for H’s cousin’s girlfriend. I’m not even sure I’ve ever met her, tbh. I love H’s family, so im going, but I hate when the guest opens the presents and is all “who?” When they read my name. Which is ridiculous bc I’ve been around for an insane number of years. But yeah.
It’s raining here and I’m getting a bit sick of the rain.
Quentin Tarantino bought our local theater and turned it into a place where only films in 70mm are shown. It reopened a few months ago and there haven’t been many we’ve been interested in, but this weekend they’re showing the new Dune movie, the problem is getting tickets. I remember the weekend of 2020 where everything shut down and everyone was preparing to isolate and we were going stir crazy, and we went to what would have been one of the final showings at that theater with the old owners and we brought sanitizer and gloves and told the kids not to touch anything, and during the film we looked down and saw ds2 eating popcorn off the floor 😂.
I also have a follow up vaccination appt for the dog today where gratefully they are squeezing me in. I took her to the vet about a month ago and she got some vaccinations, and then I got an appointment reminder text on my phone last week, but didn’t remember making another appointment and forgot that the vaccines she was given required a second dose so I cancelled it and then realized my error when they emailed me and said she was overdue. It’s so much work trying to run a household, keep up with kid appointments and activities and now dog appointments.

What specific part of the waterfront? Inner Harbor? Eta: a lot of Baltimore is surrounding the harbor so you will want to probably target the area you are in!

Yes! I try to make a point of making some kind of fun plans at least a couple of times a month (preferably weekly) or else I would never go anywhere. Errands no longer reliably are enough
Today my H and I are going out to lunch and then a nearby smaller museum, just to get out of the house. We haven't done much the last two weekends and I am getting tired of wasting our free time!

Yes, Inner Harbor! We're going for the Peruvian navy tall ship visit.

I would LOVE to cheer for a colleague experiencing an awesome life event. Do it! You are a graduate! Walk that walk!
We got a ninja smoothie blender. It's very very loud but I love it so am having smoothies near constantly for meals. I may never chew again.
BUT even though I know it's loud, even though I tell myself it's loud, every damn time I press the start button, I jump at the noise. So I'm real awake this morning.
I’m feeling stressed about getting things done this weekend. I am out of town for work Monday-Wednesday and when I get back, we are driving seven hours to ski for a long weekend. This weekend we need to pack and stage everything for our trip so DH can load up the car on Wednesday and we can hit the road with the kids.
Both of the kids have birthday parties and/or play dates this weekend, so I’m hoping they’re nice and occupied and DH and I can knock out everything that needs to happen before Sunday night.
On top of that, we are picking up a four month old puppy the day after we get back, so I need to figure out today what stuff we have and what we need to buy so we’re ready for her. I am so excited for puppy snuggles and walks! No pic because the site pulled her now that she’s being adopted and I didn’t save any, but she’s a beagle mix (icedcoffee) and her name is Winnie and I can’t wait to introduce her to you guys.
At a local Champs swim meet this weekend for my oldest. Watching his confidence grow throughout this season has me all teary. I’m so proud of this kid for a million reasons—but especially the way he tosses around High-5s to the other kids.
Ugh I developed a scratch on my cornea last night. I’ve had one a couple years ago and it was miserable then. I have dry eyes and probably have not been keeping them lubricated enough and leaving my contacts in too long. I could have gone my whole life without having to suffer through this again.
My eye doc offices are closed until Monday. I called another one open on Sat desperate to be seen so I could get the medicated drops I got last time. Luckily after knowing I have a history of this and hearing my symptoms, they were willing to just call in the script and I can follow-up with my doc on Monday.
So I’m wallowing in my misery at the moment. I love sunshine but the light sensitivity is killing me. I could draw the blinds but I like seeing the sun. Not sure what we’ll do today. It’s time like these I wish I had prescription sunglasses. I think I’m going to get some when this is over.

My H and I, like the good midwesterners we are, covered every open surface with Easter knickknacks last night. My son got up before we did and thought the Easter bunny had arrived because we set out all of our plastic eggs in a little basket.
Poor guy. The disappointment that all the eggs are empty is very palpable.
I got a couple fancy Lorcana cards graded and mounted. One's a 9 and one's a 9.5! This company is pretty strict and rarely gives out 10s. One of these cards is selling for $375 and one $200! I'm not selling them, but I sure am tempted to!

It's rainy and cold today so probably just hanging around the house today. DH requested that we go out for a "nice" dinner, so I made reservations at a local place we like. Tomorrow is supposed to be nicer, so hopefully that's the case. Today will just be chores, a Peloton ride and grocery delivery.

Blackwall Hitch or Kona Grill? It's been awhile since I've been downtown though.
Ugh, I am sick. Sinuses and sore throat and slight fever. Luckily I happen to have a dr appointment already scheduled for Monday- a physical I’ve been putting off.
Unluckily I have a work assignment I must complete this weekend. I guess I’ll load up on ibuprofen and Tylenol and power through between naps.
