Anyone want to discuss or help me out? I have a feeling my SIL will be getting stuff for my kids for Easter since we'll be together, so I don't want to look bad and not get anything for our nephews. Problem is I know nothing about older kids/boys!
So if you have any ideas for Easter basket type stuff for 7 & 10 to boys I'd love to hear it.
Small lego kits. Robux gift cards. Coins or small bills. Gift cards for stuff like Dairy Queen. Favorite candy. Small puzzle toys. Pop-its. Pokémon cards, or trading cards for favorite sport. Keychains to attach to their backpacks. Stickers. Jibbitz if they have Crocs.

Reusable waterballoons (the kind that you order off amazon that snap together), or a pack of bunch of balloons. Those foam airplanes that you put together and throw. Basically anything you can find in the toy aisle at a pharmacy lol. Boys that age are easy luckily!

Every year my sister, dad, mil give my kids an Easter basket
My advice is don’t do an actual basket but a small gift is ok. Maybe one candy item or small toy with a gift card taped (like Rita’s or ice cream place). Keep it simple

Do they play sports? DS2 is getting lacrosse balls because he's lost a bunch. I'm putting Rice Krispy treats in the baskets and we just put small candy or change in eggs for the egg hunt. No ideas yet for DS1.
We usually focus Easter baskets on summer stuff. Flip flops, sun glasses, bubbles, etc. Things we'd be buying them around this time of year anyway. Haha.
Do they play any sports? For my 10 year old I'll probably do what I did last year meaning sport related stuff-I think I got him some new soccer sandals, an eye black stick for baseball, soccer themed water bottle stickers, etc. I also try to get a couple fun outside toys, summer shoes, that kind of stuff...those kids of mine have too many damn toys as it is, and my parents take care of the Easter candy so I'm off the hook there.
He loves Airheads, sour watermelons, basically any sour or fruit related candy, so I will get some of that. Maybe a $10 Robux GC. He's also super into Diary of Wimpy Kid books so maybe a couple of those. Swim trunks and maybe nice goggles for the summer.
I’ve always loved Easter for fun little things for my DD. Since she has a November birthday Easter made a good excuse for a new book or fun art supplies she wanted. I’m definitely not buying Easter gifts for other kids though?!
With teens it’s very easy. DD did say she looks forward to it as a fun surprise and still wants to hunt eggs this year. I wasn’t too sure because she acted too cool for school about it last year at 12 but apparently it’s fun again at 13. 🤣. Anyway a small amount of candy, Starbucks gift card, book, sunglasses, lipgloss, and done. So nice to have an older kid and not stress anymore!

We do this, too. Towel a d bathing suit, flops, sun glasses, diving rings, etc.

Both of my girls (age 5 and 12) are BEGGING for rain boots. They LOVE to splash in puddles on the way home, so I figured that will be with the Easter basket. I probably would have gotten it anyway for them, but this is a perfect excuse for it.
