Depends. what's your overall career record? One relatively quick job on your resume won't really matter - and as you said here, this other job is more in line w/ your goals. Totally understandable.
It's when you get into a list of quick jobs where people will see you as a job hopper and at a point, the excuses start to wear thin!

Positions prior to this were held for 6 months (internships)-2 years (professional work). My resume for this new position would reflect a combination of my internships (May 2012 grad) and other professional experience.

If you think the other job is a better fit, I'd apply and worry about it if/when you actually get it. If you were to get the new job, I would go into with the mindset of staying at least 1 year, regardless. I don't think 1 'job hop' matters too much though...you just wouldn't want to get into the new job and then do the same thing in 3-4 months b/c it could effect your resume at that point. A lot of people don't stay at their first 'career' job all that long, IMO.
