DD made chocolate pie with whip cream topping and took it to school. The assistant principal told her they would learn pi this year and her teacher told her no that is an 8th grade deal. She is celebrating with him and eating pie in the office. Today is the last day of the tri-mester so it is a day of turn in late workday and not a learning day.
DH just realized that it was Pi Day and now feels the need to make a pie. I'm hoping for banana cream or pistachio cream. I just finished the last of my reports for my project, so I am taking the day off tomorrow. I'm not sure what DH and I will do tomorrow. DD is at a battle bots competition today. Her team put in a lot of hours since the beginning of the school year. They were at school until 10pm last night troubleshooting. They had to forfeit their first battle due to a tech issue, but they were able to fix it before their second battle. Unfortunately, their bot was crushed in the second battle. DH and I were able to stream the event so we have been enjoying all of the battles. Some of the bots are really impressive and we saw some cool destruction!
rere I'm not a mom of young adults yet, but I can only imagine how hard it is to know what's out there in terms of substances laced with extremely harmful drugs and knowing how prevalent they can be among young people's circles.
My dad actually made me go with him to a lecture on effects of illegal drugs when I was 21. It was geared towards medical professionals and hearing about these drugs in an objective way was quite eye-opening. To this day, I'm really glad he made me do that.
This week is moving quickly. DD1 wants to have a sleepover with her two besties on Saturday. One of these girls seems to have a lot of restrictions. The mom gave me a "maybe" when I inquired about the sleepover earlier this week. I'm hoping everything's okay at their home and that this girl can join the sleepover this weekend... Just knowing this kid, the situation seems odd

I made a blueberry pie during lunch break (premade filling and premade crust) and am about to go made a chicken pot pie (homemade filling, premade crust) so we can have pi dinner. I have been shut in my office but the kids have a snow day and I have been hearing the doors open and close a lot down there so I am a little afraid what I will see when I leave my desk.

The scariest thing is some of these kids don't realize what they are getting. They think it is a regular vape or a regular percocet, however that's spelled. A teenage stupid decision turns into a deadly decision. At least when I was a teen, if we wanted drugs, we knew what we were getting.
