One more day until all my children are back where they need to be. Ds asked last night if dd was in Haiti. Way to be on top of things. I'm pretty sure I'd have lost my mind if that was the case. It's been hard not to talk to dd for an entire week.
Tomorrow Dh and I are going to a concert for our favorite local band. It's a cover band, but they are awesome and play a little of everything. Weirdly, they are a few miles from our house, playing at the house I rented in college. It was the cutest little farmhouse. They tore that down and built a new one and turned the huge horse barn into a venue, usually for large weddings, but I guess are branching out.

It feels like it's been a long week, even though it hasn't been that busy. Nothing planned for tonight other than crashing onto my couch with DS when he gets home from his dad's.
Tomorrow is Beau's DIL's baby shower. Beau bought them a super expensive car seat, so I'm using that as my gift and not participating in the diaper raffle since I know they still have diapers left over from baby shower #2. I'm a broken record complaining about baby shower #3. It just rubs me the wrong way.
The weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend and Beau wanted to go riding Sunday. He suggested that we drop DS off at my parents house so I could go, but I feel like I already don't get enough time with him and I'll be away for a few hours tomorrow for the baby shower, so he's going with his son and brother. DS mentioned mini golf a couple of weeks ago, so I'll probably take him mini golfing and out for lunch.
Today is a busy no school day. I got DD an acupuncture appointment at lunchtime and then dropping her off at a gym friend's house who's dad is WFH. Their house is 3 blocks from the acupuncture office. DD will hang with him, pick up friend from school and then go to gym practice.
Weather is supposed to be gorgeous this weekend which is so hard on me as it makes working hard. Saturday DD competes in the compulsory state gymnastics meet 3.5hrs north of us. I'll work until noon then we will drive north for her to compete at 4:30. Staying overnight and then will drive straight back to the office on Sunday.
No idea when I will find time to do laundry, grocery shop, housework.
I've been feeling really burnt out with my job, so I basically took the last 2 days off. I took DDs to meet my dad at a field with a batting cage so DD1 could swing the bat and get ready for softball season. My dad helped DD1 while I played soccer with DD2. I took a few swings and actually did well! But I'm sore today LOL.
Today DH and DD1 went to visit his mom about 5 hours away, and DD2 took a commuter boat into the city. We went to the aquarium, a fun shopping area, walked a bit of the Freedom Trail and popped into a few historic locations, and grabbed sandwiches at our favorite sandwich shop. Even in the cold and damp weather, we had a great time.
This weekend will be full of soccer. DD2 has one game tomorrow and two on Sunday. She was supposed to have another game tomorrow evening but the coach canceled it - he thought it was too much in addition to the tournament. I'm not sad about it! Hoping the weather holds for the tourney - it's going to be chilly but hoping we avoid the small pockets of rain expected.

186momx, do a Fred Meyer clicklist order! The kid was at my car within a minute today after I entered the parking spot number. That should save you some time on your hectic weekend.
mae0111, since you're burnt out, can you put in your 2 week notice now?
I have been sleeping so badly that last night I took NyQuil at about 11:00 (I am also having awful allergy symptoms), and then took children’s melatonin at 3 am. It’s the same dose as “go back to sleep” melatonin for middle of the night. Today I was just exhausted but at least was a little out of the crap cycle, so I took advantage of a quiet afternoon to take a long nap. I’m hoping that’s enough to get me back on track. I swear I’m like an infant, that if I get overly tired, my sleep just goes to crap and it’s a vicious cycle.
So this week I am going to try to take it easy and nap a lot. Plus take DS to ninja and DD to her first outdoor field hockey practice. And grocery shop. And maybe sew two baby quilts for DH’s cousin who just had twin boys.
We have our typical sports-filled weekend. Though DD does have another bye week for flag football tonight. DD just had a basketball game, and DS2 has a baseball game and DD has a softball hitting practice tonight. Tomorrow DS2 has arena soccer then goes to the baseball opening day parade. DS1 is skipping the opening day parade to go to a SkyZone birthday party, then has baseball practice. DD has flag football pics, then a softball game, then umpire training for softball. You're supposed to be 12 to umpire and she won't be 12 till August, but she convinced the league to let her do it. Then tomorrow night there's a glow party at the kids' school and my two middle boys want to go. Sunday is a 6:15 am departure for softball and a birthday party for a friend of DS2.
The only elementary (K-6) school sport here is basketball. Each of the 8 elementary schools has a grade 5/6 girls team and boys team, and the girls teams play each other every Friday for a few months. DD was on the team last year and not only did they not win a single game, I don't think there was a single game that the officials didn't need to stop adding points for the opposing team since the gap was so large. Today was DD's second game of this season, and her team won! So they were all pretty excited. I got to see 30 minutes of the game before heading to DS2's kindergarten parent-teacher conference. Two moms who have zero basketball coaching experience are coaching the team and have been putting in some real time with the girls at practices, so I'm really happy for them, too.
We leave a week from Sunday for our spring break trip to the East coast!
supertrooper1 - I’m having lunch with my boss on Monday. I’m nervous about it because I’m second-guessing my decision. I do this with all big decisions - it’s why DH and I work - I have analysis paralysis about everything and he makes decisions without thinking things through. I have a feeling that he will try to talk me out of things, and I’m afraid that I will listen 😬
But taking a break for the past couple of days has been really nice, even if he did text me today knowing my calendar was blocked for a day off.

I’m late this week! Yesterday was the first day of spring break and my best friend and I took it off work and took our kids an hour or so away to a really good zoo. We hadn’t been there in 5 years! We had DD1 and her DD recreate a photo we have of them when they were 1 and 2 during our first trip there when DD2 wasn’t even a thought yet. We all had a wonderful time.
Rest of the weekend will be low key. Yardwork, housework. H and I just put in some shelving in my office closet so I’ll move things around in there. Maybe go to a nursery and buy some plants.
Nothing else planned for spring break. I’m working, Wednesday after work I’ll drive the kids to my parents and they will visit them until Sunday. Friday H and I have a double date with his best friend while their kids are also visiting grandparents.
