For you gen-xers whose parents dragged you to Sears or Olin Mills for posed photos....I swear these were training sessions for mammograms. The weird ways I have to tilt my head, place my feet and turn my chest while getting the girls squeezed take me back to the Sears portrait studios of a bygone era that was the 80's!

So colonoscopies….ive heard about a diy one at home? Is this a thing and is this legit? I’m not 45 quite yet and have never had one and no family history but this seems like a nicer option. Is it too good to be true?

I believe they have more false positives. My mom did one, actually, got a flag and ended up having to get a colonoscopy anyway and there were no concerns.
I think for me the worst part of a mammogram is that the machine was obviously designed by a man because there's a little screen directly in front of your face displaying the amount of pressure being put on you. Watching that tick up while getting crushed is just doubly awful!

Colonosopies are not fun and I had to fight to get mine because the first doctor's billing person swore it wouldn't be paid because I wasn't 50. They somehow hadn't gotten the memo about being 45, even though my insurance assured them it was covered. I obviously finally found a better practitioner. Good thing, because they found 3 polyps. I have to go back in 3 years, but an grateful I fought and didn't wait until 50. It gives you great peace of mind. Colon cancer is one of the deadliest, but most preventable cancers.
I need to schedule the dentist for myself, and I need another mammogram in 6 months because I have a cyst (not cancerous).
Self care, I feel like I am bad at it, but I am good at sitting on the couch and watching TV or playing on my phone. The kids always need dinner and being driven to a sport that I don't feel like I have time to work out even if I do actually have time. I always feel tired. Realistically, I need to go to physical therapy and keep up the upper back exercises because I am rounded at the neck. IDK, I thought I needed therapy but have been feeling better after a rough month so maybe not.
