I live in New Jersey. My friend and I saw a tiktok where these two girls flew out of Newark on Spirit and did Disney for a day. They park hopped as well. They had annual passes, my friend and I do not. So we opted to just go to Epcot for the day. (we are both going back for family vacations in the summer)
We flew out of Newark at 5 am and landed back into Newark at 11:45 pm. I left my house at 2:30 am and got home at 12:30 am. So I was gone almost a full 24 hours.
Cost of Trip: 120 for round trip flight, 165 for Epcot for the day, 44 for parking at Newark airport, about 50 for food for 2 people. (my friend paid for the two ubers which worked out to the same amount as food and parking) so we each ended up paying like 380 for the day.
Take aways: It was a blast. We had the best time. The flights were great, and they were both on time and landed a bit early. There was the feeling in the back on my head all day, "What if our flight home is delayed or canceled?"
It was a long day, however. We actually left the park at around 2 and stayed in a hotel lounge for about an hour and a half to charge our phones and relax. I fell asleep on the plane as soon as we got on it at MCO and didn't wake up until we were landing in Newark.
Would I do it again? Probably not. It was a lot. I was exhausted. I lost a toenail walking around (I had lost it a few years ago from the marathon and it hasn't been right since)
Its the flower and garden festival at epcot. We got apps at four different countries that we split. We also split the ribs from the US pavilion. We were both full from that. I will say that my friend bought us wawa pretzels and brought them with her. She insisted that wawa pretzels were better than disney pretzels.
That sounds like so much fun - nothing I'd want to do more than once in my life but still! I wish it weren't a 3 1/2 hour flight from where I live to get there. I've done Disneyland for like 36 hours in the past, but included a stay overnight.
Interesting! I was supposed to tag along with my H on a business trip but it got cancelled so I have a prepaid ticket and plan to go down and use it sometime this calendar year on a solo trip. But....I'll probably get a hotel room and relax. LOL
Fun! We live about 2 hours from DL and I’ve done the day trip where we are there from rope drop to park close a few times, a 20+ hour day. It’s definitely an exhausted drive home so we usually try to take turns, like one person drives there and one naps, then we swap, but you save so much not paying for a $300/night hotel you only sleep at. More often will do 2 full park days with one night at a hotel in walking distance that lets us stay parked there.
